BG heads on the road again to Ill State. They are off to a 7-0 start. I hope we can pull off a road win!

Anyone going? It is about 6hrs from BG but think me and some friends are going to head over.

I am going out on a limb here and saying this is the toughest team they have faced thus far this season. Anyone want to back me up on that?

11/11/08 vs. Illinois-Springfield W, 81-57
11/15/08 at Wright State W, 69-61
11/21/08 vs. Alabama State W, 77-71
11/22/08 vs. Houston Baptist W, 107-70
11/23/08 vs. SMU W, 84-73
11/28/08 vs. Nicholls State W, 75-65
11/29/08 vs. Winston-Salem State W, 53-33
11/30/08 vs. UC Santa Barbara W, 87-59

Im actually really impressed, not a bad schedule for a team like ISU. They beat Wright State, from my ol' stomping grounds, and they are an always competitive D1 team. They also won the SMU Classic and the World Vision Invite. Its always tough to win a tourney like that, let alone two of them. But YES we seem to be the best test for them thus far :)

For the record....Wright State is 0-4 against a poor schedule this year, so that's no good win, and the rest of their schedule isn't that impressive either...however 7-0 is difficult for any team to get to.

Illinois St went 25-10 last year.

Here is some quality info on the game today:

Anyone know if this is on TV? Or just 1230 AM?

Illinois St. is solid.

They haven't played anyone this year, I wouldn't be surprised if we went in there and beat them.

BG is the best team they have played thus far. As mentioned before Wright St is back to being Wright State this year and that's prob. the best team they have played this year.

Looking at the rest of their non-conference schedule it's pretty sad. For a team that was upset about not making the NCAA tourny last year they didn't exactly schedule to make it this year either.

But how far in advance are schedules planned?

Anyone know if this can be watched anywhere on tv or streamed online?

Ill St should've made NC's last year. They are very solid. Not surprised at all we lost today, though its a bit disconcerting to see us getting completely drilled. I'm still hoping we can be competitive once MAC play starts, but we're nowhere near where we need to be right now.

Men's basketball (and hockey too) need to snap out of their current funks, or it'll be up to Tracy Pontius, Lauren Prochaska, Tara Breske, and our other amazon warrioresses to carry BG through yet another bitter winter.

the Men's team will be fine. we should have beaten OSU and they look real strong now with a couple of ranked road wins under there belts. SHould have choked out Savannah St. and as mentioned before the combined record of our opponents was 19-2. I'm not concerned with Men's basketball.

just got back to BG from the game.. what a long road trip for one day! with the bad roads and snow.. BOO

anyways, guys did great i think. First half was pretty good, second half started off really ugly, but they can show that they never give up and tried to fight back. I am very excited for this season and looking forward to many more roadtrips!

What IS the story in Knight? One minute? He was BG's best or second best player last year IMO. I know he had some issues earlier this year but he sure looked like a player. Is he still in the doghouse , injured or just not performing?

His minutes have steady gone down. Started the season playing 30+, last night he played 11. I wonder if his knee is sound.
