Marketing is something far beyond advertising. Advertising is a statement. Marketing is more similar to a conversation. Its identifying a set of customers and developing a comprehensive plan to communicate with them about your product.
You have to know who you're aiming for and you have to know what will get their attention. Once you've done that, you can begin to shape their perceptions about your product and its place in their lives.
Omar is gold. Look at the recent history of the University and the QB position. Miller, McClure, White, Henry, Harris and now Omar. The history of that position is a great story that lends itself to marketing. No matter who's coaching, BGSU always seems to have a guy that throws for a ton of yards. We're always fun to watch, we're always an exciting team. We aren't playing Tressel ball, we aren't grinding out three yards and a cloud of dust. We're moving the ball and having fun. It's fun to watch!! Hell, it's SEXY
That's the mindset we need to take. We don't need to throw up a few billboards and we don't need to send out letters addressed to "business owner".
Would Brandon leave???
He is atleast going to stay until Omar & Co. graduate. With a possible Heisman candidate, you don't just switch school! Unless of course you are Urban Meyer1987alum wrote:Would Brandon leave? Yes, of course.

The real question is when and for what position.

Flipper: I think I'm going to save this post and "cut & paste" every time this discussion comes up. Well said.

I like this theme. Nice contrast with the dinosaur to the south of us.Flipper wrote:Omar is gold. Look at the recent history of the University and the QB position.
