Nice little read regarding our new member to BG. The fans didn't have too much bad to say about "The Claw", but there were some comments on the negative side that had no teeth at all. Check it out.

Just wait till you hear the part of the press conference where he talks about "Ohio, the greatest state for football".moneymaker02 wrote:The more comments I read about him the more I like him.

There were quite a few nasty ones in there as I kept reading, but at the same time, most of them fail to acknowledge that Tennessee's failing this year had everything to do with Fulmer and little to do with Clawson. There may have been a few slight missteps on Clawson's part, but they had just lost a great OC in Cutcliffe, and so no matter what, anybody was going to look kinda bad. On top of that, the players in that program were all looking out for themselves and not the team this year, and a lot of them just wanted to play old-fashioned Fulmer-style football instead of trying some new things out. All in all, as the season wore on, that team just continued to lose heart and fall apart more and more, which is why as some of the commenters on their forum pointed out, they played worse and worse as things progressed.
I for one think that Clawson's resume before this year's debacle at Tennessee speaks very loudly for itself. If you ask me, as someone who follows the Vols just as closely as I follow BG, I think it is safe to say that he fell into a very bad situation there that was only a polished turd because of the big name and the fact that they fought and clawed (no pun intended) their way into the SEC championship game the year before. That being said, I look forward to the Clawson era here at BG and it will be interesting to see what he will do with a team that isn't already halfway in the tank when he walks in.

Apparently, according to most fans (UT), "The Claw" didn't get much of a chance to utilize his unique offensive scheme. I guess the offense was also complex and the players couldn't understand it or just couldn't get accustomed to it. The red shirt QB started to get the hang of his offense. Maybe a potential transfer? I can see a lot of good things coming to the orange.

Very few redshirts are going to transfer and lose a second year. The guy'd be old enough to be Wasean Tate's grandfather when he finished.buffaloefalcon wrote:Apparently, according to most fans (UT), "The Claw" didn't get much of a chance to utilize his unique offensive scheme. "Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
