Chance to see Luke Kraus in action

Post by Warthog »

For those in BG, Findlay high school plays @ Bowling Green Friday night. Here's a chance to see future Falcon Luke Kraus in action. And I bet you will see Coach Orr there as well to see his son playing for BG. Game time should be around 7:30.

Of course I'll be there about 4:30 since my kid has been starting on the BG Freshman team.

I went over to see him tonight and it was an interesting matchup as he was gurading Chauncy Orr most of the game. Krauss ended up with 27, and I think Findlay won by 14-15 points. I think Chauncy eneded up with 8, and it took him awhile to get going, but he got more aggressive in the second half. I was a little suprised at Krauss's height, until I walked on the floor after the game and he is much taller than he looks when you are just watching him play. He also has good "hops" for a guard.
Coach Jackson was at the game too!

Final score was 60-47, Findlay. I was impressed with Kraus's jumping ability and quickness. There was one time he shot and missed a long 3 from the corner. Rebound bounced out front and BG had a breakaway until Kraus come out of no where and blocked the layup. Got called for a foul, but he covered a lot of court in a hurry.

Orr was disappointing tonight. I think he may have let the Findlay crowd get to him with the airball chants after he missed his first shot badly. Also interesting to hear how much his did is coaching from the stands. I know Chauncey was looking up to him several times.

Also, interesting to hear Coach Orr calling out Findlay's plays from the stands. Two times in a row he yelled 'watch the back door' and bingo, backdoor cut for a layup.

edit to add: But the BG freshman won and my kid had four points. :D

Only four? What a disappointment! Why is that kid seeing any playing time!?!?! Is there money to buy out the coach's contract!?!

Athleticism would be my biggest fear from a 6-1 white guard, great to hear that shouldnt be much of a problem. I wonder how tall Chauncey will end up being?

That's his season high! Now averaging 2.3 per game.

I feel like Krauss isn't really that great of a find though. It seems like there just isn't anyone else on the team so he receives a lot of credit. I hope this isn't the case, and Orr tends to have a good eye, but I'm just not fully sold on him.
