Fine effort by our guys, and great energy from the crowd. Nice to have a full band. I'm dismayed by the decision to pull Spratt so early (1:48 left) and us on PP...but I guess Pooch may have been worried that it might be the only chance we had to get a faceoff in their zone.
No goal was the correct call.

I thought they pulled the goalie way too early for being on a power play as well.

Greg Franke is still a poor play-by-play man.

I thought the same thing. I don't know if having a two-man advantage was worth the risk with that much time left and a "free shot" on the empty net with no icing for the shorthanded team. (Which had controlled the play for all or most of the third, it seemed on radio.)

Of course, I don't think that throwing the kitchen sink out there on a PP and down a goal to the #1 team that had crushed you twice weeks earlier is necessarily a bad thing, either.

And a tip to the 88.1 guys... When your team is down a goal with nine minutes left and picks up a penalty, don't spend five minutes explaining how giving up a goal on the PP, then having to fight back from two down, only to have to face a shootout against a team that's won two shootouts already. WAY too much time left, and why give them a goal that's not on the board? Then do it again two minutes later on another penalty?

Anybody get any pictures/video of some of those brutal hits? I swear, the one in front of spratt could be the biggest hit i have ever seen in person, at any level!!!!!!

Evidently the guys on 88.1 didn't think we had much of a shot. Shame on them. We were in that game until the very end. A couple of breaks our way and BG wins that game. I'm dissapointed to hear our radio guys talk like that in a 1-goal game.

My thoughts:

We started the game flat. Didn't seem like we had any energy and just kinda took what ND gave us. We were on the receiving end of a lot of big hits in the first. In the second we started to give them back. We played with a lot more energy and no team was able to control the game at all. That right there shows a lot about this team and how they need to play.
