I doubt Tanski will ever start for us. Its basically Pankrantz or someone else we end up recruiting. Tanski will end up probably being 3rd emergency qb.cw08 wrote:It's Tanski time!

That all sounds nice but he still did not get a schollie from a single Div.1 school including us(walk-on I believe). I'm not saying it would be earth shattering if Tanski panned out to be something special but I would say its not likely if not one of the 119 Div.1 school in all of America didn't think this kid deserved a schollie.svillefalcon wrote:Hey, Tanski ran the spread in high school and was Mr. Football doing it getting to to the division 1 state title game, twice. Don't count this kid out.

3rd string behind who? Pankrantz? Who's Pankrantz? Just because somebody got a scholarship and somebody didn't doesn't mean that the scholarship player is necessarily better, especially if the walk-on was the #1 best high school player in the state of Ohio.Falconboy wrote:I doubt Tanski will ever start for us. He's an 18 year old kid who has been told how great he is since he was 12, it's expected. Word around town is his dad is one of those "my son is gods gift to the world" and never put him in check.
I hope the best for him, like i said, he's a kid with his head a little on wrong.

The best most talented players don't always win the awards. See Micheal Craptree and the Heisman. He just happened to be in a system where he could put up numbers. In football measurables do count for something.bgsufalcon24 wrote:3rd string behind who? Pankrantz? Who's Pankrantz? Wait, so you're saying that Michael Crabtree isn't fast or strong, or that he doesn't have the measurables?daspollak wrote:The best most talented players don't always win the awards. Dumb. The guy's a freak of nature.

Do I hear sour grapes in that? Come on people seriously, this guy's 17 - 18, nobody on this board personally knows him unless someone's not telling. He made a decision, let that be it, and things may turn out better for everybody anyway.cph2133 wrote:Yea, my girlfriends little sister used to date him. No s**t..who really cares if some 17 year-old kid throws a hissy fit and goes to Akron? It's his life, it's his call. BG always seems to be loaded at QB. It's the one position that gets recruited well here...that and WR. Maybe there's a correlation...
So far as Mr Football goes...Derek Kidwell was Mr Football in 1990 or 1991 beofre coming to BG..that didn't mean he got to play over Erik White or Ryan Henry

I'd say it's actually pretty common for a new head coach to contact his committed recruits right away, within a day or two of getting hired. There may be others, who didn't have a reporter ask them, feeling the same way as Nicely does. I for one hope Coach Clawson has already been on the phone to the other commits.
He reportedly didn't make the hockey game Friday night because he was visiting recruits. We'll be fine.theziggies wrote:I'd say it's actually pretty common for a new head coach to contact his committed recruits right away, within a day or two of getting hired. Yeah a kid form my hs went to Michigan this year and as soon as Rodriguez stepped in he had a call the next day, it could be how much the AD encourages this actiontheziggies wrote:I'd say it's actually pretty common for a new head coach to contact his committed recruits right away, within a day or two of getting hired.
