Fordham & Richmond fans

Post by hammb »

While trying to find a way to avoid working this Monday morning, I checked out the Fordham & Richmond football forums. Both of them have a thread discussing the Dave Clawson hire. To a man everybody is thrilled for Dave and thinks he'll be hugely successful here before likely moving on to a BCS job somewhere.

My favorite quote comes from a Richmond fan:
Congratulations Coach Clawson certainly, but truly it is more like Congratulations Bowling Green you made a great pick.

I cannot wait for the spring game.

I'll be making travel plans all the way from Colorado for the spring game. Well worth the trip.

Do you have to golf, or can a person drive a cart around and swill beverage, which eating unhealthy food and making jokes?

We should definitely try that again! Maybe we can avoid the rain?

Absolutely. The only thing I avoided this year was the green.

It was a good time.... even with the rain. We got 9 holes completed before we all gave up the ghost. I have a strong feeling the 2009 version will have better weather.

It would be highly unlikely for it to be worse weather in late April. It was like 40 degrees and rainy.

The weather may have sucked, but J4H and I did get to walk away from the deal with armloads of crappy clubhouse snacks. That didn't really make up for TG's presence, but it was something... :P

Who ended up with the rain checks for Nicholas and my back 9...... Hammb - did you get one and I think Metz got the other. So some people ended up with a good deal on the day. 9 free holes courtesy of Tech

I don't know what was worst.... watching Metz crush the ball on every drive and me shanking it into the adjacent fairway or watching BO actually eat that clubhouse food

Yeah..... what's with TG bringing his Dad as a ringer

I got one of your rainchecks, but I should have opted for the crappy clubhouse food instead. I didn't even end up using the dumb things. I went to use them this summer and then I saw that the dumb things expired in 30 days.

Next time I'll just take the crappy snacks.

I just know that I felt like crap the next few days after playing in that rain.

I felt like crap, too, but that was from not playing well.

I didn't use my rain check either, and I also noticed when it was too late that it had expired.

I would definitely be game to play next year, for sure. If we plan ahead enough, I'll make sure to take the day off from work so I'll be at the spring game and golf.
