I'm going to miss him. Tough season for Jacob. Hope he finds what he needs to regain his love for hockey. Best wishes to his family, too.

Hopefully everything works out for him. You hate to see a kid who's so good at something just give it up. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere, even if its not at BG.
The end of the article talks about how 2 players have quit the team in the last 3 weeks. It makes you wonder what's going on in that locker room.

Do the right thing!
The name may be shocking to me as far as who left the team, but Jacob is not the first and won't be the last this season...mark my words.
This team and this program are a mess and if Greg Christopher doesn't step up...THIS WEEKEND...to end the drama, it will continue and will destroy the program. Part of me wonders if this is what the administration wants. Something I hate to admit. Where is Paul Olscamp when you need him?
It's time to read the writing that has been on the wall for the last 2+ years...this PROGRAM is in HUGE trouble, folks. Personally, I'm crushed by the current state of this program. There is plenty of blame to go around.
If any current players are reading this, know that the fans are behind you. And we are behind you 110%. Please know that there are people acting out there in your best interest. They are doing what they can to save this program and to make things better.
I know, personally, I will NOT sit idly by and let this happen. I hope that other fans will join me in airing their displeasure. We can save this program together, BG Fans...it's what we do the best...it's what Falcon Hockey has always been...a family!
To Greg Christopher...the ball (or puck in this case) is in your court. You have the money available to buy the jackass out of his contract...you KNOW you do. Do the right thing!
GO FALCONS!

"The game isn't fun" translates to "the game AT BGSU isn't fun. If the game isn't fun anymore he would not be considering his transfer or pro-options. It's just not fun HERE which stinks. What is going on? Some of you seem to know quite a bit but won't post it here, why not? The only way we can do anything is if we know specifically what is going on. This is terrible news.

Ok. Enough is enough.
For a year and a half now, I have sat idly by and listened to you idiots talk about how bad of a coach Scott Paluch is. You really cannot blame a coach if the highly talented players that he recruits wash up and decide to leave. My issue with Cepis is that everytime I talked to him, he was a jerk about everything. If he didn't like Pooch, then why did he commit here?
My other problem lies with you, the "fans". I have heard you talk about how you want to "boycott" the program, and raise money to help buy out Pooch's contract. Why not donate that money to the program, so that maybe we can get better? If you really want our program to get better, you wouldn't be organizing boycotts and buy outs. I am sick of you being unloyal, backstabbing, fair-weather "fans". You need to step up and stop acting like spoiled little children. Nobody can just step in and raise this program to a national championship in one year. Grow up, and start supporting your team!

But can you blame him for the fact that he's been our head coach for 6+ years now and hasn't put together a winning record in a season yet? I think that's one of the main points people on here are trying to drive home. It's also not really about Paluch's record history, it's about where the program is headed with him at the helm.Lil' Curlz wrote:Ok. Enough is enough.

As for people boycotting and raising money to buy out contracts. If people want to see the coach gone, the best way to make that happen is to let the administrators know. A good way of letting the administators know is to stop donating.
I agree completely with Dforde..."the game isn't fun" translates to "the game isn't fun HERE". The timing of Jacobs leaving allows him the opportunity to transfer elsewhere and play the second half of the season.
This goes MUCH deeper than the loss of one more player. We've been hearing of these troubles for 3-4 years, and we can't continue to ignore them.
Add my name to the list of those who say "its time for Pooch to go."

So, where is the program headed? Also, looking at our league which has three NHL teams(Miami, Notre Dame, and Michigan) in it, no I don't think you can blame him for our winning problems. Before he got here, we hadn't hosted a round of the CCHA tournament in ten years. Before last year, we hadn't advanced in god knows how long. So , yeah, I do think he is doing a good job.But can you blame him for the fact that he's been our head coach for 6+ years now and hasn't put together a winning record in a season yet? Look at who was here last year and you'll find your reasons as to why we even had a chance to advance (and I'm not talking about players). Jackson brought ND from the dregs of the CCHA to the upper echelon of the CCHA in about a year in a horrible facility. So, yes, a coach can make a huge difference in s short amount of time. Urban Myer is a great example of that also.Lil' Curlz wrote:So, where is the program headed? Where is the program headed? Not up apparently. Whether or not it's Paluch's fault that Cepis and Maxwell left the team isn't something that a lot of us on here can make a call on. Either way, they still left the team, and that says something. Do you think that's not a factor that incoming recruits will look at when they consider coming here?Lil' Curlz wrote:So, where is the program headed? And about the schedule, would you rather be playing in the WCHA with Minnesota, Denver, Wisconsin, Minn. State, Colorado College and North Dakota every year or in Hockey East with BC, BU and UNH?
I also agree with what DForde said in his post. I don't really understand how a kid can just lose his passion to play hockey. And if he really did lose his passion, then why is he thinking about signing a pro contract or transferring to play somewhere else.
