POTW honors?

Post by rood »

Will the CCHA still give out player of the week honors even though there were only four team playing this weekend? Our guys should be in pretty good shape to get the nod. Jimmy played extremely well (so nice to see), while Brian Stewart up at NMU gave up 3 goals on 32 shots in a pair of losses (2-1 and 1-0 which leaves them out of any kind of offensive player of the week recognition). WMU and Alaska had a 6-3 game on Friday which should put either of those goalies out of the running regardless of what happens tonight.

Hmm I agree and hope it will happen but the fact we have to justify the decent play of our team against a currently subpar Clarkson squad doesn't speak much to the state of the program right now.

But I'll leave that for other threads, as there's already plenty of hate going around right now.

...I'm just not sure how great I really feel about potentially winning those POTW honors if a. only a few other conference teams were playing and b. we weren't absolutely OUTSTANDING against Clarkson.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
