Recruit news

Post by rood »

Jordan Samuels-Thomas has been putting up pretty impressive numbers in his second year in the USHL.

His name starts with an S, too, so he can take Svendsens' spot on the 1st line next year!

He had 5 points in two games last weekend (11/21-22) and is now tied for his team's lead in scoring.

Goalie Recruit?

Post by collegehockeywatcher »

Will BG bring in a scholarship goalie next year or go with Eno, Greer and a walk-on?

Isn't Greer a walk-on, himself? He's only played 3 minutes in his career.

Not sure how the scholarship $$ are spread out or if they are looking for goalie for '09. If the coaching staff has faith in Greer as the back-up, maybe they will wait a while to bring in a new goalie. When is Eno expected to return?

I guess BG has been near the Toronto area lately...

Eno will most likely play against Ohio State... and yes, greer is on scholarship

So, I guess BG would prefer not to allocate any more scholarship $$ for a goalie in '09 and recruit a walk-on to back up Greer and Eno?

Unice was committed for a long time and backed out at the last minute. Eno signed on with 12 hours' notice. If we need another goalie, we'll get one.
Or, we could play empty net.

typically they'd get a guy when their top one would be a junior and give him a couple years to develop such as with sigalet and eno, but who knows really... obviously in that notre dame game earlier this year they seemed to be afraid to throw greer in there in relief so i wold think they will try to bring someone in right?

Nice they had a big crowd for it but the defense couldn't have encouraged a potential goalie recruit much.
