I won't be shocked if the MAC goes 0-5.

I have it on good authority that this is false.
Yes, lets quit hammering on the dead horse. Sorry Ryan but I heard it differently and I got it from a good authority also. But at this point it doen't much matter does it.
Let's see whose source is more credible. I found out from my sister's, co-worker's, father's, lawn boy's, barber's, accountant's, ex-boyfriend's, mail carrier. Ha.

Have a great new year, Spart.

The ever so dangerous Rice Owls are up on Western Michigan 24-0 at the half. The MAC will drop to 0-3 after this game. Only Ball State and Buffalo have yet to play.

We are missing out on an entire month of practices as well as the expsoure. Wonder if all these recruiting defections headed to Toledo would have happened if we were playing in another bowl game this year?
Rollo,

You've made your point on countless other posts. GB is gone. Let it go. I am as disappointed as anyone with 6-6 this year but to keep harping on this is getting old. You and a few others here seem to think it's necessary to keep hammering this dead horse.
Sorry...the bowl season just fanned the flame in me again.
I hear ya, man. It's tough sitting thru all these bowl games thinking what could have been. Hopefully Coach Clawson gets us to one in 2009.

Yeah, that worries me too. I think I'm pinning all of my hopes of the MAC winning a bowl game on Buffalo.

... did I just say that? Seriously?

I don't really sweat bowl game records. They're not really an indicator of conference strength...they're too small of a sample and too reliant on certain matchups. We all know the MAC isn't the greatest conference, but I do think they were a little better this year than they had been the past few. It's a shame to see our conference brethren lay eggs in the bowl games, but they're not that meaningful. Most of them didn't deserve a bowl anyhow, they only got in because there are too many bowl games.

Hopefully Buffalo & Ball State can put up a better showing for the conference.

For some reason I think Buffalo has a better chance at winning than Ball State. I think BSU's record was not reflective of the quality of their team and I put more credence on Gill's ability to gameplan for their bowl over BSU's overall talent.

Gameplan against UConn = Put 10 guys in the box and have a guy deep just in case. They have 4 passing TDs all season.

{{{I could have coached BG into as good a game against Rice as WMU had. Pretty hard to imagine turning down a chance to play in a bowl game, get recruiting exposure, etc. As for knowing BG had a better team-BG didn't play the top 3 in the West and lost to number 4. Better? Well, better than number 5 maybe (but not number 6 Eastern), but then nobody invited us to a bowl.))))

We didn't play the top 3 in the West but we played Buffalo, who beat the top team in the West by 18 points and we played Eastern who hung over 50 on Central the number 2 team in the West and beat them. Christopher knew we would be invited to a bowl and fired Brandon as fast as he could because it would have made him look silly to fire a bowl bound coach. Selfish if you ask me. Any one who knows anything about bowl ratings on TV knows that BG is a bigger TV draw at 29 points a game over Northern Ill. who scores 14 points a game.

Well I know the first thing I do before watching a college football game is look to see how many points a game each team scores. If it's low I usually watch Saved by the Bell reruns instead.

GO BUFFALO AND BALL STATE!!! UB will beat UConn but I'm a bit worried about BSU against Tulsa. BTW, our friend in Tulsa, Jeff Graham, just signed a 10 year contract extension yesterday.

So should we expect Graham to start coaching somewhere else tomorrow? :D

I believe it's Todd Graham. The guy at Rice, the school he dicked over also got an extension.

Hmmm....Buffalo didn't get it done. The MAC could be 0-8 in bowls the last two years if Ball State doesn't win. UGH>

You REALLY need to give this up. It's just not healthy and your imagination is getting a touch out of control.

There are better conspiracies you can pursue which may actually hold water in comparison (e.g. the Flat Earth society.)
