I think it's ignorant to say the game would have been the same is USC would have had to play in 10 degree weather with snow in font of a crowd 3/4 rooting for them instead of the other way around.

I'm pretty sure people would scream bloody murder if Florida had to play the National Championship game in Oklahoma City. Or if USC had to play in Pittsburgh.

Think what you want, but your crazy to think where the game is played doesn't make a difference.

Here in Pennsylvania on New Year's Day, it was neither 10 degrees or snowing. In fact, it was pushing 50.

This was also a bowl game. Who cares if it was played in LA. Penn State got the same number of ticket USC, did, and judging from TV there was just as much blue and white as there was maroon and gold. Nice try chief. Man do I hate the Big Ten.

50/50 try again....Penn St. had one giant block and a few pockets around the stadium. ABC stated that Penn St. brought 20,000 fans, the capacity is 92,000+.

And as we all know the weather is always pushing 50 in the midwest at the beginning of January.

I'm not a Big10 fan, but I do think it's unfair to make one team travel 2,000 miles and one travel 10.

In your defense, maybe when you only saw parts of the game when they showed the PSU crowd, chief.

Yeah, you're right. It is unfair to have teams travel an unequal distance for a bowl game. In light of this, perhaps the Big Ten will sever their ties with the Rose Bowl in order to send their champion to the Motor City Bowl for the sake of being closer.

Are you serious?

At least Penn St. never gave up. They made it somewhat interesting in the 2nd half.
Thank you. As much of an ass-wooping it was, PSU kind of made it a game. But, USC did dominate. Either way, JoePa and company made it better than OSU would have. :P discuss. :)

k-dog, thanks for saying that PSU never gave up. That's what I saw. Technically...had they scored the TD (which was an INT) in the endzone...they had the onsides kick to work with. All I'm saying is that the game wasn't over until the INT. PSU didn't lay down. I know I'm all about moral victories right now, but USC didn't allow 8 opponents any points in the 2nd half. We got 17 and still had a shot.
EFF-it. PENN STATE beat the Bucks and TRULY WON THE BIG 10 THIS YEAR.
I'LL TAKE IT.

Keep the Rose Bowl and they can alternate it between Pasadena and Detroit each year. They did have the Super Bowl there after all.

That game was 99% USC being the better team and 1% USC being close to home.

Hey, I like Penn State, always have. USC kind of went into cruise control and it let the Lions get back into it. It was a shame when he through that interception because it looked like it could have gotten interesting.

I always thought it would be fun for the Big 10 to have some vengeance against the SEC and/or the Pac 10 in bowl time. Instead of the Big 10 team traveling way south into SEC territory (Orlando, Tampa) to play an SEC team or out to Pac 10 country (Pasadena) to play a Pac 10 team, how about one of them comes to a bowl game at Lambeau Field on January 1 to play a Big 10 team? Hell, I'd probably travel to Wisconsin for that - it might be the best chance I'd ever have to see a football game played at Lambeau Field. Alternatively, they could play in the Big House, Spartan Stadium, or Minnesota's new outdoor stadium, TCF Bank Stadium.

Absolutely, the game was over at halftime and everybody including USC's players knew it. USC's playcalling much of the second half was nothing like it was in the first half. Carroll has a lot of respect for Paterno and didn't want to embarass him. Notice the one time USC felt a little threatened in the 2nd half they went down and scored in like three plays.
