MAC East vs. MAC West records thus far.....
MAC East vs. MAC West records thus far.....
.....Obviously, teams are playing various schedules in non-conference play, but right now all six MAC East teams have winning records while all six MAC West teams have losing records. It has sort of been the pattern the last few years with MAC East being stronger in hoops while the MAC West has been stronger in football.

Eastern, Central, Western, Northern, and Toledo have RPI's 270 or worse. That is 5 of the 12 MAC teams near the bottom of all of D1. W was supposed to be competitive this year, and E and C were supposed to be decent.BGSU33 wrote:.....Obviously, teams are playing various schedules in non-conference play, but right now all six MAC East teams have winning records while all six MAC West teams have losing records. Kent, as well as W, has been a severe disappointment this year. Kent has an RPI in the neighborhood of 225. Overall, that makes 6 very disappointing MAC teams this year, half the league.
All of these RPI ratings are in line with the corresponding Sagarin ratings. We're going into the MAC games, so the MAC's overall RPI can't improve. MAC teams can improve or decline relative to one another.
The decent teams in the MAC, other than Miami, all have RPI's 100 (Akron might be around 90).
