I was there, and still couldn't really tell what was going on. All I saw was Darryl throw his jersey at the feet of the coaches and go to the lockerroom. As I said earlier, if I were the coach I would not want him back, I wouldn't like being shown up, and I don't think you should quit on your teammates, especially if you're a senior leader. However, it's their team, and they are the only ones who know the details of what happened and only they can make the decision on it.

Either way, it's up to the team to work out on their own. I know how I'd handle it, but it's not my decision.

How about Nate canning two CLUTCH free throws! Up two with 3:00 to go and he nailed them. That was easily my favorite part of the game.

This team needs DC. I hope it works out.

+1 on the opinion.
Very unusual situation. I only viewed the exit since the game was going on so I missed all the drama and alleged contact. Lets hope this odd situation works out well for our team.

Yes that's it! It must be DD fault! The kid is a senior captain. DD hasn't been here for two years and it's his fault. Give me a break.

One of the assistants said much the same after the game (on radio)- "we're a family, there are always issues in families and I suspect we'll work this out". Can't imagine there wil be discipline. As for assault? I didn't see it but that seems like major overkill :smt067 from the description of events they gave on the radio.
You were listening to the BG game? :smt017 ADMIT IT!! YOU'RE A HUGE BG FAN!! Stop hiding behind that rocket name...let your inner Falcon out!! We all know it's there!!! :-D

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. Take this as you want.. I know in other forums on here you are all are tired of hearing about "reliable sources" but i was talking to a very reliable source today and just wanted to let you know what I was told that really went on.

So Coach Jackson got mad at Clements for a play that happened and Coach Jackson told Coach Orr to sub him out of the game. When DC got to the bench Coach Orr told him to sit by him. DC was talking to Orr and told him that the players cant concentrate when coach jackson is cursing them out and embarrassing them in the middle of the game. DC went to wipe his face with his jersey, and while his jersey was over his face coach jackson punched him and hit his nose and then Coach Jackson grabbed him by his jeresy. This is where DC took off his Jeresy and left. I was told by my source that he left instead of fighting back and potentially hitting Coach Jackson.
So I think he did the right thing for getting up and leaving. It was not to go against his teammates or act like 5 year old. It was so he didn't get into a fight with Coach Jackson. Leaving and not touching him was a lot better then if he would of gotten back in to Coach Jackson's face and maybe even of hit him.

You can believe that if you want. Ask any of the people sitting right behind the bench. I am sure if they saw what was going on they could tell you the same thing.

I just wanted to get out what I was told.

The University's policies and regulations don't matter...it's a family issue amongst the team and the coaches. If you aren't part of that family you should just butt out and let them handle things. It's thier team after all....sure it says "Bowling Green" on the uniform, but that actually means "our family".....

This statement is truly inaccurate and shows the a lack of understanding about the adminstration..... I am fairly certain that a student pushing a coach in front of people... is a concern to the DEAN, Athletic Director, and President.... "The Family" is not bigger than the university

As someone sitting approx. 5-7 feet away from the incident, I will say that is not true.

That was pretty much what I saw. A coach totally lose his temper, make contact with the player, and the player stand up, take off his jersey and walk off the floor.

You know what they say about assumptions...Actually saw on here (keep your friends close and your enemies closer ;-) ) that somebody stromed off the floor. When I saw on /Yahoo that there was 1:29 left I was heading for the store. Turned on the radio in the car to hear what happened-heard NONE of the game! I do have a dirty little secret though- years ago I went to see BG play Marshall at AA. It was a church thing and I was sort of forced to go but I went and once I even ooood about a pass Brandon Pardon threw, but I caught myself immediately and went back to cheering for Marshall. :-D

Yep. Rules are rules are rules. We must rigorously maintain standards of behavior. The university administration represents hierarchy and order that holds it all together. The players and coaches must submit to this order, despite whatever discretion that might otherwise apply. We have a process for incidents of this sort. As tax payers, we have a right to know that this incident will be handled correctly and officially.
