With it being the day of the last bowl for the MAC, I think back to when the commish was begging and pleading for more teams in a bowl game. Remember when Miami was 10-1 about 10 years back and was not invited anywhere? Well Mission Accomplished! - now we have 5 teams playing... We really need Ball St to step to the plate tonight and take it to a good Tulsa team. Really they are probably the only bonified team from the league worthy of a bid. God, I hate to think back to BGs experience last year. That turned off lots of the people in my section of the stadium. When I ask them why they didn't renew tickets they pointed to that one game. (Nice game plan GB)
All things considered, lets leave it at one NCAA bid with Hoops.

A few years back, I can't remember the exact year, the MAC had multiple bowl bids and did well. Even though the bowl system is very diluted, it is good for the MAC to get multiple bids.zete wrote:With it being the day of the last bowl for the MAC, I think back to when the commish was begging and pleading for more teams in a bowl game. The MAC has been down in basketball, but has also done very well in the tournament. If we get multiple bids, that is a good sign for the conference.
The MAC has major issues with the quality of both football and mens basketball compared to ten years ago. I don't think that time needed to be a high water point, and if hard to maintain, it should have been.
Having bowl bids now isn't a reflection on the MAC as much as raw numbers. MAC teams play because they are needed as fodder. For all the BS people flung out here about how bowl games trump MAC titles, we now see that yes, bad bowl games are worse than no bowl games. Bowl games matter if you win them. They are nice perks after a near title season, if you win the game. They are great recruiting fodder, IF YOU WIN THE GAME. Aside from that, they are a craps shoot, and the MAC plays with dice loaded in favor of the other team.

Another Loss Looms
Under 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and it is Tulsa 31 and Ball State 13.

if you read another thread... you will see that OSUFalcon is actually a Buckeye fan. Noone on here is upset about the egg that Ball State laid. This year unlike last they did the right thing by running the ball. Last year they were still predominately throwing late in the game. Relax, the only one I feel sorry for is your team losing it's O-Coordinator, hope your next can step in and fill the shoes just as well so maybe we can get another crack at ya.
