Never.

It makes one wonder, no?
Are you talking about the TD? Was he even that open? Looked covered and just shook a tackle.
I didn't see another white shirt around him. It was early on the replays but he was wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open. Paris Hilton couldn't get more wide open than that guy.
They still missed a tackle though. It could have been just a first down.
I was watching the replay on the ESPN.com sidebar thingie whilst make breakfast. It didn't look like there was anyone around him.

I went back and watched the play again. I originally thought he was wide open, but on review it looked like there was a defender there right as he caught the ball.

come on people it was a SAFETY that was covering him man to man. safeties can not cover man to man. he may have been there within tackling distance but there was no way he was going to make that tackle.

Just to clarify, I never said he was going to (or should have) made the tackle. Just pointing out the guy wasn't standing out there in open space twiddling his thumbs.

It was Anderson Russell and he admitted on making a mistake and trying to get there to go for the ball and he simply misssed the tackle once he realized he wasn't going to get it.

I am still trying to figure out why, after we have begged for it all season for them to blitz like that to no avail, that they decide to go man to man and blitz all of the linebackers when they are on the 20 yard line knowing McCoy was going to throw a quick slant or WR screen.

I know they got to McCoy all game and knocked him down nearly every play but drop atleast one LB into coverage and that pass doesn't go for a TD if it is even completed at all. I think the blitz worked too well for them all night so they thought they could get to him one more time I guess.

The coaches blew this one. I knew it when they were showing blitz before the ball was snapped that it was a bad call. Unfortunately, I was right.

Oh well, bring on SC again.

When OSU got around the 20 yard line with 2:30 or so to go I thought the worst thing they can do right then was score a touchdown. Next play they ran it in and left more than 2 minutes on the clock. They would have been better to burn the clock and kick a FG, but oh well what can you do.

oh well...the defense was great all game. you have to trust that your D can hold them for 2 more minutes.

if you stall and kick a field goal, especially when they had two timeouts left, you leave them time for one long pass to get into field goal range and then they win the game...just sayin.

OSU will have yet another chance next year...i mean after all who is going to stop them in the big ten? Penn state is losing a lot of weapons on offense and OSU's offense is going to be better. Boren, Brewster and Shugarts on the o-line...that is going to be better than boone and rehring and cordle.

Can't wait to see Jamaal Berry and boom herron take over at RB. Our slow receiver is going to be gone. Robo was nice but Posey is much faster and better route runner.

Pryor will be better if they actually let him throw the ball.

I don't think we'll have to worry about osu being in the national championship for a while. there is no way people are going to vote them in unless they go undefeated and since they have to play usc again next year, they wont.

How is OSU going to be better next year? They lost 16 SR starters ...Beanie Wells is off to the NFL where he will get crushed....that kid can't play with any kind of pain. It's been his MO since his HS days in Akron.

They will be better because Pryor will be better, the WR's will be faster true receivers who will mirror Holmes, Ginn and Gonzo. Devier Posey, Lamaar Thomas and Sazenbacher with Lamaar Thomas being the biggest home run threat.

So what if Wells is leaving, he always missed the big games anyways. Boom Herron will fill in nicely. He came on strong towards the end of his 1st season with limited time (he redshirted last year so this is first year with experience). The #1 RB in the country is coming to Ohio State, Jamaal Berry as well. Plus Brandon Saine is still here if he can get healthy. There is not a lot to worry about.

Also when was the last time that OSU's defense has sucked? I can't remember a time. It is like plug n play. Take out JL and Freeman...plug in Homan, Sweat, and Sabino. Also go the top 2 LB's in the country coming in next year (one of them is the kid from Gateway, PA).

They always seem to have the next great linebacker already booked up and they never seem to disappoint. Same with CB's. Malcom could be replaced by Ohrian Johnson, Travis Howard or Devone Torrence. Yes they are just names and prospects but Tressell always has a knack for finding the right guy. Chances are, a couple of them will turn out to be OK.

The biggest thing is that the o-line will be MUCH better. Alex Boone seems lazy to me and I am glad he is gone. Mike Adams, JB Shugarts, Michael Brewster and Justin Boren (UM transfer) will be much better than Boone, Cordle, and Rehring.

Oh, everyone also said this same thing after 2006 when Troy, Ginn, Gonzo, Pittman and all of those people left. OSU still made it to the national championship. ;-) 8-)

by default, nobody gave them a shot in that game vs lsu. the 2006 osu team would have killed the 2007 team.

Who are these 16 senior starters? I count 4 on defense, the punter, and 6 on offense(and that's only if they start a tight end and fullback). Where are the other five?
