At the end of the season it was Calvin Johnson and no one of note after that playing receiver for the Lions so this could be a good opportunity for Steve. I think Kevin O'Neill was the last Falcon to see any regular season playing time with the Honolulu Blue and Silver.

Great opportunity for playing time, however I'm sure the Lions are going to try to make some moves in the off-season. We'll have to see how he fits in next summer.

Funny enough, a friends and I actually ran into Steve Sanders at a Boston Market in North Olmsted last week during lunch. I spoke with him for a few minutes about BG football, BG games, etc. Really nice guy, I wish him all the best.

If we can use history to predict the future, won't the Lions use their first pick on a WR?

Nah, I think those days are over. Matt Millen is gone now. I'm betting they take a QB.

As a Detroit Lions fan, I for one am hoping that they DO NOT use the #1 pick on a QB. The Lions are at least 2 years a way from really competing anyway. I think they should either trade the pick to get more picks later in the draft or get an offensive or defensive lineman. Matt Millen destroyed this franchise by using the draft to strictly draft skill position players. Because of this their o-line and entire defense has now gone to hell.

Besides, I want to see Steve Sanders get some PT as well!

Stafford would be an awful pick.

Yep. I just don't get the fascination with Stafford, and I suspect his draft stock will drop as April nears.

It's because he's a "pro style QB" whatever the hell that means. Maybe it means he was average in college, never won a big game and never lived up to expectations.

I think his stock will rise by April, they will forget how underwhelming he was in games because he will look so impressive at the combine.

Stafford

Stafford reminds me of Big Ben. Big, strong guy, + arm strength, decent mobility when needed. I think he'll be a solid NFL QB, never anything flashy or gaudy but won't kill you. But what do i know...

Bradford would be a worse pick than Stafford...Bradford is staying in school.

Stafford has a way better arm than Roethlisberger, but I gotta hand it to Big Ben, he's crafty as hell and it takes a lot to bring him down. Stafford choked several times this year, and I don't know if he's mentally ready for the big leagues yet.
