OSU debacle

Post by MooneyRich86 »

Well, back to earth for hockey. Clarkson was a beat up and injured team.
Ohio State showed up and sent a message to BG . How much longer do we have to put up with this. It will only get worse. I received my application to re-up my Falcon Club membership and I am mailing it to Greg Christopher with a note that says NO MONEY UNTIL PALUCH IS FIRED !!! I'm disgusted
and embarassed and will no longer give up hard earned money that is wasted for this program. I can very easliy like many others put this money
away for my kids for college or many other better uses. :smt078

It ain't working with this coach. GC got rid of GB who had a good deal of success while SP has done nothing with this program.

Better make a change...the sooner the better or BG may not get off the mat for a long time.

There were rumors a few weeks ago SP was getting canned over break, but that didn't happen. I would be very surprised if he is fired during the season. The earliest I would suspect is March a day or two after the season ends.

The team really came out flat against OSU. Maybe the players heard the rumors of change we all heard and when it didn't happen it affected their motivation. I have heard from many different people associated with the program that the players don't like SP and I can certainly understand if they have a hard time getting motivated to play for him.

I really hope they do find a spark to play good hockey or else it is going to be a long second half of the season.

Go Falcons!

If this is just a motivation issue then I've got a real problem with that. So i'll give some motivation.

THEY ARE PLAYING FOR BGSU, NOT SPSU!!!!! IF THEY CAN'T PLAY FOR THE NAME ON THE FRONT OF THE SWEATER THEN THEY CAN GET THE HELL OFF THE ICE!!!!!

They did not get scholarships to play for Pooch, but they did get scholarships to play for Bowling Green State University. If that isn't motivation enough then they don't belong on the team. This whole situation sucks and has for a couple of years now but I don't see it changing until the season is over. So make the best out of it and have an ounce of school pride.

I think the kids have the pride and self motivation which is why they continue to battle, otherwise they would have been totally blown out. The problem is lack of overall talent and not having a coach who can recruit
or recognize better talent and be able to coach in all game situations. When you've had nearly 7 years to run this program and you have done NOTHING
to adavnce the program beyond what Buddy Powers had you are a COMPLETE FAILURE. Paluch has embarassed himself and the University
and if he had and ounce of respect for BG he would resign !!

Sadly, I bet a lot of the players would like to do just that. Maxwell already has. Cepis already has. Who's next?

Good Luck tonight, hopefully we can split.. I'm going to try to listen to it but probably fall asleep. Went to the men's basketball, dinner with some friends inbetween, but at dinner i got sick to my stomach and figured i should be at home so i don't have to have my head in the toilet in the ice arena. LOL

BUT GOOOOOOOO FALCONS!

the name on the front does nothing for you, it doesnt help you win, its only the people who take the field or the ice or where you ever play your game that matter. Nothing els matters but you and them.

I just checked the latest CCHA standings and BG is dead last.

In the meantime, sit back and relax and enjoy a video profile the CCHA produced on our leader, Scott Paluch.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
