Since BG didn't play Ohio State or Texas this past season or next season shouldn't this be in the "Other Schools" forum? While I just LOVE seeing ANOTHER Ohio State pissing match thread it's not relevant to BGSU football.

And yet USC stumbled at Oregon State this year...the same Oregon State team Utah beat. USC is simply a different beast and yet for the 3rd year in a row, an SEC team won the BCS title.bgsukid wrote:Has nothing to do with them being a BCS team or not and I'm not saying Utah isn't good, I'd have voted them third behind USC and Florida, it's just USC is that good. Alabama and USC is no comparison, USC's been bringing in top recruiting classes for six years while Alabama has just recently getting back to getting top classes with Saban there. That's why USC is better(and deeper) at every position, significantly so at almost all of them including ones like quarterback, receivers, running backs, linebackers and secondary. USC doesn't start freshman at any positions like Alabama does because of that string of great recruiting. It's really not even a close, Alabama would get rolled by USC. USC shows up for big games, Alabama waited till they were down 21-0 to show up. By the way, Penn State was one win away from playing for a national title too and the game was over at halftime. USC's simply a differrent beast.Falconfreak90 wrote:I disagree. This Utah team would give USC a run for their money...I think Utah would give any of the other top 5 teams a serious game....they are THAT good. Oh, I forgot. They aren't a BCS team so they couldn't possibly be that good.![]()
Say what you will about Bama but they were one win away from playing for the BCS title. They must be half way decent.
Look, USC is a great team and program...so is Florida. But THIS year, ONE team went unbeaten and did everything it could to win the title. Utah. You simply cannot argue that fact. And they mopped up the field with Alabama...again, another fact you cannot argue.
We will never know until this piece of sh*t BCS facade is blown up. You won't change my mind about Utah THIS year....OSU kid.

Did somebody fart? It smells now!tekekini wrote:exactly..
you guys always criticize everyone else playing the coulda woulda shoulda what if games.
nobody knows anything because hardly any of these teams played each other. You always criticize the Big Ten for beating the weaker teams of other conferences but it is somehow forgivin when the Mountain West beats up on the bottom feeder, non bowl participating PAC 10 teams?
Simply Incredible.
By the way. Did you know the MAC was 0-5 in bowl games? They will be lucky to keep any bowl allegiances if they keep getting blown out by Tulsa in Mobile. Word on the street is the Motor City bowl wants to dump them.
Big Ten....1-6 in bowls...so much better than the MAC. Word on the street is the BCS wants to dump Slowhio State.

Nor will you change mine that USC would've beaten the Utes handily. They didn't deserve a national title, since anybody in the top 10 could've run the table with their schedule. Yeah we all know Utah beat Oregon State, it's the only lame arguement you ever use, well that and how they beat Alabama who wasn't the best team in it's conference(hard for me to call a team #1 that didn't even beat a champion from another conference) and a team that USC is better than top to bottom. But it's an obviously flawed arguement since the transitive property does not apply to football. If it did Penn State would've beaten USC since they also beat Oregon State(much worse than Utah did), but just as USC would've done to Utah they promptly smoked Penn State. Does anybody really think USC loses to Oregon State if they get them at home like Utah did? Of course not. Utah definitely would've stumbled had they had to play the road games USC did, Utah barely made it past Michigan, Air Force and New Mexico on the road, there's no chance they survive a Pac-10 schedule or any BCS conference for that matter. USC is a victim of the conference it plays in and doesn't get the respect because nobody stays up and watches Pac-10 games and then somehow they're all surprised when it goes 5-0 in bowl games. USC has as much right to play in these national title games as any of the other 1-loss teams, anybody with two eyes and clue can see they're as good or better than the two teams that played Thursday night. USC has owned the SEC anytime they've played them in recent years, they took an Arkansas team that was SEC West champions to the woodshed in Fayetteville a few years ago, but for some reason people just assume since a team is from the SEC they are better. We do both agree the BCS needs to go and we need a playoff, that's for certain.Falconfreak90 wrote:And yet USC stumbled at Oregon State this year...the same Oregon State team Utah beat.
