Don't know where some of you come up with this stuff, but that is a riot.Dayons_Den wrote:http://tinyurl.com/2zbsm
Coach Clawson introduced his staff to the players and announced goals for on-field and off-field. All coaches are in place except for one co-defensive coordinator and a tight ends coach.
Faith, family and education are to be players' priorities prior to football. Coach Clawson will emphasize and build a strong team unit with respect.
As parents of a player we are thrilled with the new direction and are looking forward to spring ball.

I guess you and your crickets didn't know about the meeting? It's nice to hear from a parent on this site. Sounds like they are off to a good start.Dayons_Den wrote:http://tinyurl.com/2zbsm
From what my son said, Coach Clason mirrors Tressel's coaching style and wants little to no foul language used. He understands everyone is human and it may occur. As far as the team unit concept goes, Coach wants no division between offense/defense, black/white, upper/lower classmen, etc. He made it very clear that the Falcons will become one on and off the field.
There are recruits in town this weekend so hopefully the bitter cold will filter out the pansies.
I can confirmed that one coach is John McDonell. He comes from Joe Tiller's staff at Purdue and will lead the offensive linemen. His coaching experience is vast:
1981 Carroll College, Assistant Coach
1982-83 Scobey High School (Montana), Head Coach
1984-88 Weber State University, Assistant Coach
1989-2000 Washington State University, Assistant Coach
2001 Stanford University, Assistant Coach
2002-04 University of Notre Dame, Assistant Coach
2005 Stanford University, Assistant Coach
2006-2008 Purdue University, Assistant Coach
Roll Along!

I don't know about the rest of you guys but when I read that, a chill ran down my spine. This has been something that has been seriouslly lacking and to hear that Coach Clawson will make it happen again hopefully means that the guys won't be doing stupid stuff and will be looking out for each other from now on. I also find it interesting to note that Clawson's coaching style is similar to Tressel...but only time will tell how well this works out. But I only see things looking up from here.falconmom wrote:He made it very clear that the Falcons will become one on and off the field.
