In The Paint - Jerome Tillman featured

Post by MACReport »

Ray Mernagh's column, "In The Paint" this week takes an in-depth look at Ohio's Jerome Tillman - the leading contender for player of the year honors in the MAC (and the preseason choice for Player of the Year by Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook).

Awesome. I'll be sure to tell every OU fan I know.

On miami hawk talk the other day they had this discussion about how Tillman had just crushed Miami on Wednesday night, leading OU to a victory. But the funny part was that somebody brought up Lauren Prochaska doing the same thing to Miami's women that same day, which led to a whole discussion of Tillman and Prochaska hooking up, or something like that. It was weird.

Well, in 19 years when some girl named "Lauren Tillman" throws in 60 against Miami(OH)'s WBB team, we'll know. :-D

If that were to ever happen Tillman would have to be one lucky guy.

I swear it's like they breed these type of players down in Athens in recent years…the undersized PF who is strong, can score, defend, rebound and bring the rim down! Guys like Gary Trent, then Curtis Simmons, Brandon Hunter, Leon Williams & now it's Jerome Tillman. Give me just one of these type of players at BG!

Well, Tillman may continue a tradition at OU, but he certainly wasn't bred there. He went to the same high school I did (Beavercreek, which is in the Dayton area for those not familiar), but a few years behind me. I didn't really know him aside from being able to recognize the guy in the commons and know that he played basketball, but it's still cool to see someone from Beavercreek making a name for themselves somewhere. Of course, it'd be even better if he was making that name at BG, but I guess you can't win 'em all, as they say.
