This is a critical series for Bowling Green as they are tied for 10th in the standings, while Lake Superior is currently in that ever important 8th spot. 10 of our remaining 12 games are against the bottom half of the CCHA, beginning this weekend with Lake Superior. We have Ferris State, Western Michigan, Northern Michigan, and Michigan State yet to come as well. Miami is the only good team we play the rest of the season. We've got to finish strong and land that #8 seed if we can, and this weekend has to be the first step in that direction.
If we get swept, this season is effectively over, at least for me.

Hopefully we can take all of the points out of this weekend. We're probably going to have to sweep 2 or 3 of the remaining 6 series to have a chance at 8th. Like bgsufalcon24 said, the only good team left that we have to play is Miami, and they have been terribly inconsistent as of late. If we get good goaltending we def. have a chance at having a good last month or so.

The last series at Lake State in the fall was winable for BG, both teams were flat in the Friday night game, and LSSU pulled out with a 2-0 win. On Saturday the Falcons started out slow but game back in the 2nd and had a poor 3rd period. LSSU picked an extra point in a shootout.
If BG plays two solid games like they did against Michigan the team could sweep LSSU. Actually BG needs to have solid games for the rest of the season, they can't afford any more flat games.

Should the team play the way we know they can, and the way have played, we should still be able to climb back up to a 6th place finish in reg season play anything lower 8th is really nasty.
the up side is if the team plays like they can, and finishes out as I feel they should we will likely play ferris or Western in the first round of the playoffs, then we would end up most likely against Michigan in the next round and we can beat those guys...the Joe can still happen, but the team has to really want it and play each period of each and each game of every series remaining to make it happen.

Hmmmm... Sixth place might be a little out of reach. 9 points out with 12 games to go is a stretch. 7th place is doable since we have two games in hand on Ferris and we still have to play them. Their schedule is much tougher in the homestretch than ours. We really need to finish in 7th or better or else we can look forward to Notre Dame in the second round

If we have to face Notre Dame in the playoffs, it's going to be a massacre of epic proportions.

I just hope we all see a great game and come out with a big win. It will be great to see the team come out with a lot of energy and be aggressive. I have been looking forward to this series all week!
There is also a good interview with Spratt on CCHA Radio.
