Strength of Schedule

Post by rood »

Interesting information: College Hockey News has a computer ranking system that includes strength of schedule:
http://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/krach.php

Only Miami, Michigan and Michigan State have had tougher schedules than us in the CCHA and BG ranks 17th in the nation.

Freddie -

Your signature line is depressing. 20 years since this team has done anything worthwhile? Ouch. :(

The sad thing is, despite are schedule being statistically strong, most of the games BG lost were because of BG not playing a full 60 mins of hockey and our players talents not being used. We saw a glimpse of what the team would look like when everything is working on Friday against Michigan.
BG could have easily been in the top 5 in the CCHA standings

Sorry, I certainly don't mean it that way. There are several great meds on the market that may be able to help you deal with your depression

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

A lot of our strength of schedule ranking probably has to do with us playing the current #1 team in the nation four times.

BC was number one when we played them in October. That makes 5.

Strength of schedule at this point in the season doesn't mean much. It's going to change throughout the season based on what BG does and what those other teams do.

And I guarantee it will drop quite a bit after the last 1/3 or so of the season, based on the records of all of those teams.

Good point, McConvey.
A fresh look at the RPI shows that our "strenth of schedule" dropped "from #13 to #20 after this weekends games.
