YES!!!!
A great victory in a must win game!
Overall I think we played a good game even though Spratt wasn't as sharp and our puck control at times seemed a little sloppy. We seemed strong in the first period and I wish we could have continued the momentum in the second. I am a little disappointed that we let Lake St. back in the game but we finished tough defensively to get the win.
Do you think we will see Spratt in the net for Saturday or will Eno get the call?
Let's go for the sweep!

Annoying or not, I think you're right. I don't think there was any way they could sit Jimmy after the weekend he had vs. UM and he played well and got the win, but three goals is three goals.rood wrote:I didn't see the game, just followed it on game tracker, but two quick goals to let LSSU back in it is really annoying. I'm thinking this opens the door to let Eno back in the rotation.
I'd bet on Eno for the SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

First goal Jimmy kicked a rebound straight to a LSSU player on the opposite side. Guy had a wide open net and nothing Jimmy could do. Second goal was a goal mouth scramble. I couldn't really see what happened as it was at the opposite end of the ice as I was. The third goal was a great shot from a wide open defenseman. Put it right under the crossbar. Again, from the opposite side of the ice as Jimmy was on.rood wrote:I didn't see the game, just followed it on game tracker, but two quick goals to let LSSU back in it is really annoying. The guys battled hard for some of the game. Seems like every couple of shifts guys had no energy and were just chasing the puck from LSSU player to LSSU player. A win is a win is 2 points, but playing like they did tonight isn't gonna win very many games.
Glad to see Sinkewich back out on the ice. That was an ugly hit he took. Personally, I thought it should have been a Game DQ rather than just a misconduct considering how much speed the player came in with, but at least the 5 minute major was called correctly. Channel 36 just showed the hit. The LSSU player started at the faceoff dot, took about 5 steps, and put all he had into the hit. Whistle should have blown as soon as Sinkewich didn't get up. #1 sign a player is hurt is they are not moving.

Fast forward to about the 3:55 mark of the video for coverage of the game. Great shot of Dee's goal as well as a better view of the hit on Sinkewich.

Thanks for the video links! I didn't know The BG News did video recaps of the games. That's pretty cool!
We were on the opposite end of the Sinkewich hit. While he was just laying on the ice, two of the refs were just standing there and watching him from the other end. A bunch of us started to scream at them because they were not blowing the whistle. I think it was pretty obvious that Sinkewich was not getting up so I don't know why there was a delay on the whistle.

Fine effort by the entire team. Nice to see so many differant names involved in the scoring. We seemed to break down in the last half of the second period, were getting beat to pucks and pushed around in front of our goal, but recovered with great energy in the 3rd.
No disrespect to Jimmy, he played well, but I'd certainly expect to see Eno tonight.
I guess the over/under is a dead issue at this point, so how about a new one: Friday's attendance was 2178...OVER or UNDER for tonight?

I'm sorry, maybe I'm not seeing it right, but where exactly is the point where Russ "turns at the last second" like LSSU's coach talked about?

OVER!! The crowd WILL be bigger tonight!!! And it wouldn't surprise me either to see Eno in net, mostly because I heard an interview on 88.1 earlier in the week where Paluch talked about Spratt and Eno and mentioned that Eno needed playing time to get back in game shape. He was pleased with Spratt's play and said it was great to have that depth in the goalie position.Freddie wrote:Fine effort by the entire team. "Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Yeah, I have no clue what he's talking about either. Maybe that was what he saw from his vantage point on the bench, but in that video on the BG Sports Blog it's pretty obvious that he didn't turn late. The kid took like 5 strides and then ran him from behind. Just a stupid play.Peregrinner wrote:I'm sorry, maybe I'm not seeing it right, but where exactly is the point where Russ "turns at the last second" like LSSU's coach talked about?

Not a good start. Down 3-0 in the first after 3 PP goals.Falconfreak90 wrote:Get the sweep!!!
Plenty of time to get 'em back. Spratt back in net, I wonder if Eno will come out for the second.

Solway scores on the PP to cut it to 3-1, but LSSU scores with :01 left in the period to lead 4-1 after 1.
