I came across this today. My guess is that they will be turned down, but I'm excited to see the effort being made and the issue being pressed. Maybe this will be the start of the downfall of the BCS. Maybe. Probably not, but still

It won't mean the end of it, just the strengthening.
If the gubbermint steps in and forces a playoff [yeah, right] you could see the BCS become it's own oversight entity. With all that money, who needs the NCAA?
Then they can make their own rules [no academic requirements, ath-a-leet pay, etc]
The above scenario would not surprise me in the least.

Any institution in that would lose its tax free status. Most schools are against this, but if the money is good enough why not.Rightupinthere wrote:It won't mean the end of it, just the strengthening.

Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, teach PE.

The Mountain West is a good conference, but as it stands now, it's weaker members are preventing it from being consistently as good as the Big Ten, Big East, and ACC, even though the MWC was at least as good if not better than those this year. For every Utah you have a Wyoming, and for every TCU there's a San Diego State.
Basically, what needs to happen in the mountain states is this. The MWC currently has 9 teams. The Mountain West needs to raid the WAC, taking Boise State, Fresno State, and Hawaii. That would give the conference 12 members and a conference championship game. Not only that, but it would make the conference way stronger as a whole. Imagine a mountain states league with Utah, Hawaii, Boise State, Texas Christian, Brigham Young, and Fresno State. That would have put them over the top of every conference in D-IA outside of the Big XII and SEC.

We're taking Bosie State and Fresno State and we're going to take Hawaii. Then we're gonna take back the BCS! Yeah!!!bgsufalcon24 wrote:Basically, what needs to happen in the mountain states is this.
