News about Jordan Sigalet

Post by FindlayFalcon »

Paluch announced at pre-game tonight that Siggy has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He apparently has had it for 9 months and is just making it public. He will have a press conference on Monday. Sad news indeed. I know that everyones prayers are with him and his family.

Apparently he plans to still play when he can.

On the bright side of this, it will force the younger goalies to be ready to go at a moment's notice, and give them experience after this year. (Hey! Its 3-2!!! :D ) Though obviously the focus is also just as much on getting Jordan the help he needs, as well.

I was wondering where he was. Thats a real sad thing to hear, especially around this time of the year.

I don't know much about hockey and I don't attend many BG hockey games, but I know that Jordan has single-handedly won us several games over the last couple years. I wish him the best in this battle and will keep him in my prayers.

This type of news sickens me. My best wishes go out to him and his family.

Not to sound cliched, but from what I've seen the young man do on the ice, I think he's equipped to deal with this challenge. He may not be able to fulfill his promse as a player, but with the help and guidance of his family, coach Paluch, his teammates and the community, he'll be more than capable of fulfilling his promise as a person.

You have no idea how true your words are. Jordan is an INCREDIBLE young man who has EVERYTHING going for him. His greatest stengths are the kind of person he is, the fantastic family he has, and the incredibly supportive people around him.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

wow. This is just awful news. My mom has been diagnosed with MS in the past year as well, so I sort of know what hes going through. Its a shame that this will more than likely end his career before it begins. Prayers to the Sigalets.

Wow...

As most of you know, my wife, Maryellen, was diagnosed with MS about 6 years ago now. It's a crazy, mysterious, annoying, and damaging disease, but it's also one that manifests itself differently in every patient.

I'm going to get in touch with Jordan... He's got a bumpy road ahead of him, but with the right attitude and the right support system, he'll be alright.

Interestingly enough, I got the final "stats" on the MS walk we did back in April in the mail on Saturday and was going to write up a summary of that. Ironic...

I spoke to Jordan at the game last night. He seems to be in very good spirits and said that he tried to play through an attack last night. I've had the occasion to meet him several times, and he is a wonderful and genuine person (something you wouldn't expect from one of the best college goalies in the country).

Please keep him and his family in your prayers. I am proud that we have a supportive community in Bowling Green and I know we will all do everything possible to help him deal with this.

Grant, I'm sure I can find it (it's on this site somewhere), but please direct me to the MS foundation so that I can place a donation in honor of Jordan (yes, Maryellen will certainly be thought of).

Thanks!
