End of 2nd period, BG up 2-1, with goals by Svendsen and Boyd! Spratt is playing out of his head!!!

GO ICERS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

We've already had the basketball teams win their games today, the women in dramatic fashion in overtime and the men with strong finish in the 2nd half. If hockey completes the trifecta and beats Miami, this might be the electric jolt that the entire athletic department needs to finish the winter season strong. Come on icers!!

Edit: Nevermind, they blew it in the third period.

Gave up 2 midway through the third. Lost 3-2 :(

Another sad loss. It sounded like Spratt was getting peppered for most of the game (I think he ended up with 35 saves).

I hope we can play a good series against Northern!

I know this might sound hollow, in view of the end results...but I believe the ENTIRE squad is to be commended for a great effort. Other than the 3rd period Friday, we were right there with them. The differance in the series was simply this...they're deeper, and have more talent on the 3rd and 4th lines.

I don't think that sounds hollow and I totally agree with you. Our team is still fighting hard which says something about their character.

Miami's depth is one of the reasons that has kept them one of the best teams in the CCHA year after year.

It was nice to see a decent BG student representation at the Miami games. Reminded me of the good old days.

A heatbreaker is a game you should win, but don't.

I'm not sure this fits. The UM win was nice, but when BG was the good team, I recall seeing them blow games to bottom dwellers. I think beating UM was more the Wolverines blowing a game as teams do at times. It wasn't some sign of recovering or change.

The team, for what ever the reason may be, isn't good.

It seems like we have the players to compete with the top teams in the CCHA, but just can't get a full 60 minutes together. When we did, we beat Michigan. Granted, Spratt stood on his head that night.

I was one of the bg students down at miami and I was very impressed with our following to oxford as well as the the fans actually showing their support well and not sitting back just cause were in another opponents barn.

Thats why I love road games, I just love walking into someone elses house and cheering for my team and hopefully walking out happy with the W, sadly that didn't happen Friday for the game I was able to make, but I still love being in that minority when it comes to games

I've been saying this exact thing since Ward left strength and conditioning to join the football team.
