There is no excuse what so ever for poor attendance
Also, standing and cheering is one thing, standing extreme with your arms crossed blocking peoples view makes you look like a fool.vwfalcon wrote:the point isn't if you are allowed to stand with the students or not... the point is, you don't have to stand to support the team... that is all most of us are saying.

really i don't give a damn if people complain if i stand with the students
i've said it before and i'll say it again i have the same right as anybody else
to stand with the students.
i stand anyways to show support for the team at least i show support for the team unlike some other people who sit on their butts for the entire game and the only time they actually stand up is for the singing or playing of the national anthem and then they sit for the entire game and do nothing that is what really pisses off. i go the games no matter what,
hell i even go if i am not feeling well that day or if i have been sick a couple of days before a game at least i am there standing up and supporting the team!
yeah i go to the mens game at halftime, so what i ain't going to pay nine damn dollars for a ticket that is ridiculous,

Has anyone considered the reason some alumni do not stand is because the can't? It may be hard for some of them (us) to get up and down. My ass is huge and my back hurts to stand up and down. I do that enough going to Catholic church with my wife.

Wow...you just proved how stupid you are. You realize all those people who "don't show support" actually are supporting more than you are? They go to the games early and give their $9 to the athletic department (most give a lot more). But you have the nerve to come on here and slam them for not standing? You owe all of them an apology. Go tell Kerm...no, you call him Mr. Stroh that he doesn't support the teams because he sits down the whole game.DustinXtreme wrote:really i don't give a damn if people complain if i stand with the students

Honestly, what does standing do?! I've watched your idea of standing down there many games. You do nothing to add to the game, the sport you are watching, or this University. Standing or sitting doesn't mean jack squat if you aren't cheering. You don't cheer the entire game so why stand the entire game and get in peoples way? Have some respect for the people who are the backbone to the program. Without them, there wouldn't be a team or facilities to watch the game!
Don't even bother with trying to attempt typing another coherent sentence in response, it's obvious that is too hard for you. Anything you can say in response to me I'm going to take as an insult because honestly, you'd be standing at the other end of the floor not blocking the view of the people around me if it wasn't for my idiotic idea a few years back.
Learn to appreciate the University and BG basketball before you call people out. Showing up at halftime and complaining is not a great place to start. Ask falconboy...

"If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, you might as well not even bother showing up as it just shows a lack of respect for the reason you were supposed to be there."
Also, I'll go wherever I want by the way. You DO NOT cheer the entire game. You've proven that by saying you come at halftime. Speaking of halftime, I'm glad the only thing you got out of my previous post was that you do come at halftime. No one is telling you not to stand, get over that. It's not about the standing, it's about what you are saying to the people who aren't.

I came into this thread, hoping to read an in depth discussion of the factors that have contributed to the attendance problem....but, instead, I have to wade through several pages of "I stand up and you don't, so I am a fan and you aren't".
I appreciate and thank those who have contributed thoughtful, concrete answers, but the rest of this is simply ridiculous and embarrassing.
