If DC (Dave Clawson) recruits the same way he did at Fordham and Richmond, he'll focus on getting "local" players, with an out-of-"state" focus in FL and TX.

I just find it interesting that it seems that when Clawson came in, not only did he scratch the entire coaching staff (almost all i think), but he seemed to do the same thing with the recruits. He obviously knows what he's doing, which is awesome...we'll see how things look come Spring Game...speaking of which, anyone have a countdown to the Spring Game??

Quick note: Vince German is the brother of BG freshman offensive lineman Tim German. From what I gathered, Vince was offered during the time BG was without a head coach. Or maybe Brandon offered and I didn't learn about it until after Brandon was let go.

Looks like a nice class both in level of talent and in addressing needs. Depth at LB, DL and RB was sorely needed, and Clawson (with the earlier help from Brandon) clearly took care of it.

Do you know how many were Brandon recruits? I remember a few of the names, but a lot I was not sure if Clawson retained tham or brought in.

This just can't be correct 8-) as of 3:30 ESPN does not show him signing with BG and we don't have any top 100 recruits. Of course they only show BG as signing 21 recruits.

I hope Ali Alaboody can slash through defense as well as his middle name (Ali Saber Alaboody).

If you look at Alaboody's bio...we have him listed as a WR, (something that I'd been told about a few weeks ago in confidence...especially if Pettegrew committed, much less the kid from Winton Woods (Where we've gotten some real FB players thru the years...)...by the name(s) of Redd for example.

Hard to believe we'd list this kid if he hadn't yet signed...did someone from ESPN get BYU and BGSU confused?
