Christmas Ideas from eBay

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Just perusing eBay looking for any BGSU items of mote and came across these two which might be of interest to you -

Up for bid is an actual Bowling Green State University Game used Football Helmet. This is not a replica, IT IS THE REAL DEAL! (so he claims...)

What is the Extra Point Club?

It doesn't look like we ever resolved what the Extra Point Club was when these shirts came up.

No Dave, I already ordered the replica helmet that was on eBay last week, along with an 8 X 10 autographed Josh Harris photo, both for my office. Plus I just bought tickets to the GMAC game, so I very seriously doubt the wife would be conducive to spending any more money by ordering this helmet. Looks like a classsic helmet though, wish I new the year on that helmet.

I'm guessing the extra point club is a group the university was going to start but fell through. Since they had all these shirts, they just gave them away to students at the SEMO game. Yes, those t-shirts are free.

Well, at least they were free then. Now the University wants a $15 starting bid, plus $9.95 S&H.

Yeah, the least they could do is get Brandon to sign them or something. Make it worth the $15.

The Extra Point CLub is the "sidelien squad" of football, except it includes all students. Each year they make a shirt and hand them out at the first home game.

I like Falcon Fanatics a lot better for a name for the students. What about the Falcon's Nest? Anything?

Back around the early 90s some kids in the now defunct South bleachers had a banner and called it The Bird Cage and had acool falcon exiting a cage. . . They would throw bird seed and during the 91 season threw raisins towards the end of the year. ..

From the gentleman selling the helmet....

This helmet was given to me by an emplyee of mine in 1987 who was a student athlete at BG. I do not know who the palyer was that wore the helmet. I am a bgsu alum also and i had it on display in my office - i have relcoated, have enjoyed the helmet for 18 years and it is time to pass it on to another person who will cheerish it like i have.
