Just for fun...

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

I bought about a half-dozen old programs off of eBay and have just started to scan in some of the more interesting bits.

Check them out (caution, some of the scans are huge when you go in full-size)

Of particular interest are the pages describing the "new" buildings in BGSU's future... and also the campus map from 1964.

Enjoy! More will follow in the coming days and weeks!

Of all the times to have been a student, I've always thought that the "building" years in the 1960s must have been the most exciting.

Thanks for the scans, Grant!

I've been buying up some old programs and media guides as well...I guess we can count on driving uo each other's bids.

The cover from the 1975 media guide is pretty cool...I'll try to scan it in tommorrow

 EXCELLENT !!

Look at those stands!

That's the way it used be every Sat. Everybody in town went to the Football Game. If you weren't there real early, you didn't get a seat!

I believe that Dir of Bands, Mr Weger, was the dad of "all BGHS, all BGSU, all Detroit Lions" - Mr Everything" - Mike Weger. The guy who sang Ay Ziggy Zoomba in the movie Paper Lion (?). I believe they moved to BG from Texas. (correct me if I missed something - ol timers)

I still love that old Flying Falcon logo; with that mean look on his face. Back when you didn't have to copyright everything to get more $$$.

anxious to see more. . . 8)

Is anyone able to make a jpg. or something of that falcon on this page? That is honestly one of the coolest BG logos I have ever seen and I would love to have that electronically. I can't believe I work in the university archives and have never seen that before...

This is one of my favorites. I have no idea of the era or how widely used it was. Some may think it's derivative of Bucky Badger. I say how can anyone take the concerns of a entity called "Bucky Badger" seriously.

yes, and then they moved back to texas when roy weger became director of bands at north texas state u., now known as u. of north texas. this was in the mid 1960s as Weger immediately preceded Chief as director of bands.
