Were already in the cellar and now were showing that we have no class either. the guys on the ice can determine whos a B****. Also the see ya bye bye thing is stupid and annoying and im a bg fani like the hey _____ thanks for the power play and if we score it should be hey ________ thanks for the Goal

It's not the play on the ice that is embarassing, but the actions of some "fans". I go to very few hockey games because I'm embarassed by the small vocabulary of some of our supposed "fans".

Man, things must've really changed at the ice arena since I attended games or you need to get a thicker skin. That has got to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Buy some earplugs or a mask if you are so embarrassed to be seen at the game.

Well, I don't mind cursing at a hockey game. They go hand in hand. However, generally I think all chants are pretty much lame. The power play chant lame. Applause and cheer is acceptable. The occasional BG...SU is acceptable. The let's go falcons...overused. The playing of Ay-Zig should only be used after a goal. The use of it otherwise makes it annoying. The fight song should be played at the conclusion of each period. Lastly, get rid of the friggin' band. I love the fact that it means more people at the game, but come on it's a hockey game not a football game. There is no marching at the end of the period. Hockey should sell itself. The hardest hitting and fastest game on the planet needs no gimmicks to sustain itself. People don't come to games to say the same thing in unison. They come to see some people hit and get hit and some solid stick work. All the lame chants are for plugs and pylons anyhow.
Just my 2 cents after a great day of hockey as the Leafs win and BG wins. Doesn't happen too often eh?
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.

Since you, obviously, have never read the Bill of Rights, I will provide you the text.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.[/i]
No one is asking Congress to change the laws.

Hockey is a beautiful sport. There is a "free-for-all" and "everything goes" perception of this sport which, I believe, is unearned. That perception gets consumed by a few fans and feeds a contagious plague of foul behavior - furthering this perception.

Ay-Zig is never overused. Anyone who thinks so doesn't truly love the song. The fight song is to be played after a goal. The band belongs at hockey games.

It's been that way since before you were in piss absorbing panties, friend.

Well now here's my two cents...if you don't like Ay-Zig all that much and you don't like the Fight Song or the random BG-related cheers, then perhaps you're just at the wrong school...

as for the band...I'm not touching that subject as I am a member of the FMB and A-Bands...

I always loved having the organ at the games....but since that is no longer an option, I'll take the band ANY DAY!! The band helps create the atmosphere and noise that go along with a fun exciting game! Keep the band (just get rid of that stupid cage!!)

GO FALCONS!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I actually really love the band. There's something about ridiculously loud music that just gets people pumped up for some hard-hitting hockey, but that's just my perspective as a student. Every fall we can't wait to get the band back.

I like the band in the other corner, halfway into the first semester they moved to the student section side. The band on the otherside increases the intimidation factor and also looks good on TV, (like last night that corner was empty and if the band was there the ice arena would look nice and full!

Are you crazy??? Have you ever been to a game with out a band? I went to the Notre Dame games and the atmosphere suck, the student section had nothing to get them moving and it was like sitting through church. I <3 FMB and A band

I think that this would be a good thing to start because even though I part take in the chant I sometimes edit myself to saying the word Jerkface because there are younger children who sometimes sit near me. But how do you think we could go about changing the chant??

Seriously, go hang out in the ECHL arenas. Or the UHL. Either way, they're about the same and EXACTLY what you are describing. This is COLLEGE HOCKEY!
