Off with their (bird) heads!
I know most of you don't need an extra inducement to see our basketball team, but Freddie and Frieda will get beheaded at halftime of the game tomorrow.
For those you of making the doubleheader, the other pair will get beheaded during the first intermission of the hockey game.
This year's brids have done a great job, and it is a far greater committment than most people realize. I hope you will cheer our team to victory and thank our fabulous mascots for another great year!

I guess this means we'll have large masses of fraternity/sorority folks turning out for their first and only game of the year, and then leave en masse after halftime.USGFreddie05-06 wrote:I know most of you don't need an extra inducement to see our basketball team, but Freddie and Frieda will get beheaded at halftime of the game tomorrow.

If it happens every year, why are you still complaining about it?

Yeah...as if the program doesn't the support of a falcon fan that has been there screaming and cheering for tons of games the last four years. It sure doesn't need the support of somebody who's constantly following the teams, win or lose. And it sure as hell doesn't need somebody who's most likely going to be contributing to the program as a member of the Falcon Club next year and the years to come.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:large masses of fraternity/sorority folks turning out for their first and only game of the year, and then leave en masse after halftime > you showing up for the whole gamebgsufalcon24 wrote:I guess this means we'll have large masses of fraternity/sorority folks turning out for their first and only game of the year, and then leave en masse after halftime.USGFreddie05-06 wrote:I know most of you don't need an extra inducement to see our basketball team, but Freddie and Frieda will get beheaded at halftime of the game tomorrow.

Yup, you definitely don't need people like me supporting BG athletics.
Besides, who are you to judge? You just threw half of the other students who stand on the floor under the bus earlier this week, saying their pom-poms, their zit-ridden necks, and their rantings weren't needed. How quickly you forget that we're all here for the same purpose, to support Bowling Green's athletic teams. The reason I made the comment about the greeks is that they are not there for that purpose, they only want to see one of their own get "beheaded". I think if you took away every fan inside Anderson that didn't make the cut of what you deem to be a "proper falcon fan", it would be a very lonely arena. Get off your holier-than-thou sh**stick learn to be more tolerant of your fellow falcon faithful.

To be fair, what exactly is faithful about a person who threatens a boycott every time a team starts to slump or they don't like the opponent chosen or who quits on a team partway into a tough game?bgsufalcon24 wrote:Yeah...as if the program doesn't the support of a falcon fan that has been there screaming and cheering for tons of games the last four years. Yeah, maybe we should lighten up a bit, but your usual Chicken Little attitude about any sport that doesn't involve women is a bit much to take sometimes.
Try finding the positive in the situation once in a while and maybe people will get off your case.
I, for one, am excited for a day of BG sports and watching the birds get revealed.

Can I ask then why did you go to the Women's game last sunday and not the men's game. You cry over the women like they are Gods, Yes i am very happy they are winning and doing so good, but give the men equal treatment, if you say you supported them over the last 4 years win or lose.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Yeah...as if the program doesn't the support of a falcon fan that has been there screaming and cheering for tons of games the last four years. Pretty sure he was only throwing certain people under the bus, like you. You know how many people asked me if I knew the kid that was running up and down the court looking like an idiot? Just cheer for the men sometime the same as you do for the women and everything will be happy.. well probably not

Re: Off with their (bird) heads!
The official reason was that I had a lot of homework due last Monday and I had to make a choice. I chose the women. But I will admit that I had a bad feeling about the men's game all along. A really bad feeling, and it mostly stemmed from the football loss to EMU earlier in the year.FMBfan07 wrote:Can I ask then why did you go to the Women's game last sunday and not the men's game. As it turned out, I was right. And I was VERY happy I wasn't at the game, because I would have been pissed as hell seeing us lose to EMU. I saved myself a lot of grief that day.
