Ohio State Sucks

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

I went to just about every hockey game when I was there for the simple fact that there was nothing else to do in that shitty town and I am telling you THE FANS SUCK. First, only like 100 students even show up, and maybe 200 townies.

Half of them leave after the 2nd period to get to their parties.

It only sounds halfway noise because the crap hole arena is so small.

Wow and when did you go here? You know this is BGSU, right? Can't even fathom the last time the ice arena only had 300 people for a BGSU game

Puhlease. Thats not even close to true. I have tons of relatives from other states, and OSU is always well represented when I visit.
Thats actually pretty true. I've lived in 11 states thanks to my father being a sportscaster and wherever you go, more people dislike ohio state than like. However, it's not the school they dislike, its that the fans that represent them give such a poor representation of the fanbase as a whole that people can't stand.

Also i dont know who said it, but I would also put the ACC above the big11 as well, just look at the bowl records the past couple years.

And tek, its been proven in the past that osu guys run faster at home because the track they run on is DOWNHILL!!!!!!!!! Also college prodays are done by stopwatch and not electronically. And Chris Johnson really ran slow last year huh?? And Darius Heyward-Bay really ran slow this year huh?

Also, because he did so poorly on his agility and speed drills, jenkins is going to play safety, not corner in the nfl. Like I said, he's the only OSU player that I actually liked to watch play and was dissapointed he ran so poorly. Boone, Jenkins, and Wells are the only first day picks osu has this year.

No, I don't want to be Ohio State. I want to be Bowling Green. But I would like it if Bowling Green were as respected as Ohio State, instead of treated like second class citizens. In most sports, the two schools compete directly against each other, so why treat it as though we're talking about an MLB team playing their single A affiliate? If I must be forced to accept that BG is somehow a lower tier team than OSU or any other Big Ten school, then by the same proxy, OSU fans need to be made to accept that their team (and the rest of the Big Ten) is a lower tier than schools in conferences like the Pac-10, the Big 12 or the SEC.

I personally have no problem with someone being an OSU fan. I am not one, but I am also a Tennessee fan in addition to BG. (With BG at the top for me.) I understand growing up in Ohio and rooting for OSU, even though I grew up here and didn't become a Buckeye fan. I see no reason why someone can't be a fan of more than one school. The only thing that bothers me is when someone goes to a BG game wearing OSU attire, or leaves said BG game to go watch OSU on tv. You don't see me leaving a BG game to watch Tennessee. And you can argue that it's because those people are bigger OSU fans than BG fans, while I claim to be a bigger BG fan than UT fan. Well, if I were at a Tennessee game, I wouldn't leave it to go watch BG either. When you're at one game, I think it's only right to support that team. Besides the fact that I'd rather watch a game with a team I like live than watch another team I like on the tv. (Now, there are of course exceptions. I might stay home entirely from a UT game to watch a big BG game if it were on TV, but this is assuming that both are just run of the mill, regular season games. Either way, If I were at a UT game, as long as they weren't playing BG, [should that ever happen] then I wouldn't be wearing BG gear, and I would stay there for the whole game.)
BG games are no charge to students so they find it easy to come and go as they please. If they had to pay for a ticket on gameday instead of already paying for it through tuition then no one would show up in the first place. Which would you prefer? Keep in mind if they don't show up at all then your attendance figures go down and then you drop to whatever it is Div 1-AA is now called.

You wouldn't leave a UT game because it would cost you minimally 150 bucks just to get in. I would hope that nobody wastes that money just to leave at half time.

Everyone hates a winner. Everyone also hates the yankees, red sox, lakers, cowboys.

They don't run on a downhill track. They run on the same type of track as everyone else on their respective pro days. Everyone's numbers improve on their proday. Everyone knows the track in Indy for the combine is notoriously slow, moron.

Also, Robiske will be a day 1 draftee. He will go in 2nd round.

To whoever said "try going to a BG hockey game and tell me the fans suck"

I went to just about every hockey game when I was there for the simple fact that there was nothing else to do in that shitty town and I am telling you THE FANS SUCK. First, only like 100 students even show up, and maybe 200 townies.

So the basketball team lost three games in a row. They are still in the tournament, they drilled Penn State and are back in 4th place. Lighty will come back for the tournament and they will probably surprise a few and make a run at the sweet 16 when not many give them a chance to make the 2nd round.

The OSU hockey team just split a weekend series with UM and were #13 at the time. They are harder to follow when you are not on campus since they are not on TV. I don't go out of my to check the OSU website for scores every weekend but I keep tabs as much as I can.
First of all, 300 people at the hockey games. FALSE! Last weekend's attendance was 3,311, and it wasn't even in the top 5 of season attendance.

Second, Wisconsin just owned the Suckeyes in Madison. Ohio State is a one and done team in the tourney.

Also, don't say we want to be like Ohio State, because we don't. Who would want to be like the team that everyone outside of Ohio hates with a passion?

To modify my original post:

Wisconsin & BG > Ohio State

Incase you haven't noticed....everyone is hating on the entire MIDWEST football scene. Everyone is hating on the MAC for falling off the map of slight respectibility to winning zero bowl games. Everyone is obviously hating on the Big Ten as well. It is just not as much of a story for the MAC because of the irrelevance of the conference. Midwest football in general is under attack.

Live in your dream world and think what you want, but you are included in this group of being hated on.

I don't know what UT games you're talking about, but it only cost me $40 to go to the one I went to. Select games against big name opponents are $70, but that's as high as it goes during the regular season.

And it's not about the money. I wouldn't leave a $4 UT softball game to go watch a BG game on tv either. And after this year, I will still drive 7 hours up I75 and pay to come to a BG game when I can. I may be the exception, but the point still stands. Your assertion that "no one would show up" is just plain false. Whether you want to admit it or not, BG does have some true fans who care just as fervently about this school as all the Buckeye fans care about OSU. Maybe not as many, because they aren't as popular of a brand name, but the Reds have less fans than the Yankees on a worldwide scale. Does the fact of the number of fans they have make them somehow less of a team? Of course not.

You missed the point dufus. Obviously i didn't mean it literally as you took it. Yes, maybe 10,000 people still show up...They would mostly be townies.

I promise you that the student attendance would drop dramatically....by more than half. Face it, not that many students care enough that if they had to pay for a ticket instead of being able to use their student ID to get in, more than 60% if not higher would not bother to go. You can deny that all you want but you would be lying to yourself. They would rather spend the money at the bar or for alcohol at their own party.

I never said it wouldn't. And how nice that you resort to childish name calling. But honestly, is it so wrong of me to want BG to be a respected school and for us to no longer be treated like we are of a lower class than Ohio State? I will say it one last time, I am all for someone being an OSU fan. Go right ahead. But recognize that I am respecting that choice you made and return that respect to me. Let the BG fans be BG fans without acting like we're somehow beneath you.

Furthermore, I don't need you to explain to me why people make the choices they do. They are bigger OSU fans than BG fans. I get it. That doesn't mean that I can't wish BG had more support. Why can't I wish that it were different? And again, no, I don't want to be OSU. I want BG to be treated as though we are on the same level, which honestly, fan population aside, as far as the NCAA is concerned with putting us in the same division, we are. We may not have the huge number of fans, or the tremendous nationwide brand name that Ohio State has. But I still support BG and I still love them more than any other school and I wish that it was the case that BG had as much presence as OSU. But I still don't want to be just like them. I want for us to be that big on our own terms, as BG, not as some OSU clone.

Will it happen? Probably not. But I would love it if it did. And maybe that would bother you, OSU not being the only major college power in Ohio. Maybe not. I don't pretend to know you or who you are as a person. The simple fact is that I am tired of BG being treated like we are second class citizens. I know it's our lot in the world of NCAA athletics as a mid-major, but I wish it were different, and I hope someday it is.

I don't care that your a BG fan. This is a 5 page thread of Buckeye bashing. All of this disrespect BS that you say you feel is just a creation of your mind because you have a thirst for what OSU is. In other words, you are jealous. I said earlier that is ok, you just have to admit it.

I only bash BG because I DON'T LIKE BG. I don't bash anyone for liking them, that would be dumb. I don't even bash anyone for liking Michigan, I just bash Michigan.

I called you a dufus because you miss my point not because you like BG.
