Am I correct

if OSU loses tomorrow, we play at OSU

And to clarify more, if OSU picks up 1 point via a shootout loss, they would clinch the 4 seed, and BG would be at Alaska.

While that may be true, the long trip to Alaska cancels out any machup we may have. It'd be much better if We play OSU, being only 1:45 away BG would get tons more fans and the travel is soooo much easier.

BG could easily have beat OSU if they played complete games against the Buckeyes. The first game was a high scoring but sloppy game by both teams, and the 2nd was BG not playing a full 60 mins of hockey.

The good thing about playing Alaska is that they have less offense than we do, having been shut out NINE times so far this season (including once by us). But they are much better defensively. They've given up more than 3 goals only twice and have six shutouts of their own. I can't find any stats on it directly but I would think they lead the league in both of those categories. If our goalies are on we have chance to beat them in close games.

I don't know what to make of OSU. They only managed a tie and a loss at MSU but have wins against Notre Dame, Michigan and Miami. Maybe they only get up for the big games and we could surprise them?

I had been keeping my fingers crossed for the past few weeks that we would get Nebraska in the first round. They are on a terrible streak. The only game they have won since Jan. 9 was a shootout. 0-9-5 in that stretch, ouch.

I think I may have just lost my lunch...this team and this HISTORIC program are being listed in the bottom FIVE in the country in the terms of losses with "Powerhouses" such as American International and Michigan Tech? That throbbing in my head cannot be a good thing...

For what its worth, remember that Michigan Tech and RPI BOTH had top notch programs years ago. It took YEARS of: poor coaching, inneffective recruiting, decaying facilities and administrative indifferance to drive us all to this point. AIU's a whole other story, for the love of God, I've got no idea why they even bother to keep a 'program' in place.

At least BG and Michigan Tech play in extremely difficult conferences. UConn and American International have no excuse

Tech has put millions of collars into their building over the years so i wouldnt put too much stock into that argument... RPI made a strict commitment to academics with a new president several years ago and have since not been able to get top recruits, their barn is pretty cool actually

Imagine how good Tech would be if they'd put money into the program rather than collaring the Huskies :-D

Sorry. I couldn't resist that set up :)
