And they are on their feet!

Post by Zig »

Crowd was really responsive today! Lit up the game atmosphere. Honestly I thought it was more fun than the Toledo game, but that's just me. Dustin must've had a blast. :-D

I hope someone puts up video/pictures of this game.

Were they standing? Because you don't count as a fan if you don't stand :-D

I love being able to see the score on the Bottomline. Keep up the good work ladies.

Crowd was awesome. I hate the beheadings though. Let a couple hundred greeks sit on their hands till half-time then leave after they're done supporting their 'brothers/sisters'.
Yeah right girl!

Excellent crowd. A Kent State fan- on his first trip at BG- asked me if this was "typical" or "just because we were playing Kent". I did my best to answer nicely.

Kind of tough when you are used to playing in front of the F and F (family and friends) crowd you get at Kent. BG just literally dominates the MAC as far as fan support goes.

And on the court as well.

Geez Niz, easy on the beheadings. I thought the Sis Sic supporters helped out today. Sure they could be more involved. But they are there. And I KNOW the Freddie and Frieda crowd was raucously supporting BG in their game Feb 21. That's because I was in that group.

Those mascots etc are a big deal to those who support them and occasionally we actually gain some fans from their support group later on.

Go Falcons!

Honestly, you can say all you want about the greeks at the game (beheading or unmasking), but I definitely saw more than a few of the Pikes staying and cheering quite loud after the unmasking today.

Also, a big reason why they all flock out at halftime at those games? They rush to the lobby to take pictures with their friend/brother/sister on one of the biggest days of their college careers.

In short, deal with it. Get over it.

Not to be a jerk but Toledo had a crowd of 5,701 yesterday, their support is just as good as ours.

Was yesterday the Toledo doubleheader? If so, I believe the deal was 10 tickets for $5

I talked to someone who was at the Toledo game, they said they would have guessed more like 4000 in attendance. I expect Toledo to draw more, they are drawing from a much bigger fan base. Toledo's population is probably about 10 times Bowling Green's population, is it not?

I'm sure they fudged the numbers, although 4,000 is pretty sweet too. I was trying to respond to the statement "BG just literally dominates the MAC as far as fan support goes" and bring some realism, but I didn't know how to quote it right.
