BG Club Hockey

Post by sbkbghockey »

Thought some of you hockey fans would like to know (#10) BG Club Hockey lost a hard fought game to (#3) Miami OH in the first round of the Southeast Regional Tournament 2-4.

BG finished the regular season 16-11-0.

Thanks for all the fans that came out to the games this season, we'll see you next year!!

I watched about 4 varsity games and 2 club games this year. The one thing I like about the club team is that they give 100% no matter who they play even when outmatched.

As for the varsity, that's another story, I'm starting to become thoroughly embarrassed by our varsity program, and no, don't start talking about the championship in '84. This program is an absolute mess. I think you have a better chance of seeing 10 varsity guys our drinking at Ziggys than you do club players.

18 out of the 23 varsity players are of legal drinking age. How many club players are?

This is the first time I've seen anyone cast doubt on the work ethic of the varsity team.

Is alcohol now a banned substance by the NCAA? Is there something wrong with going out, and having a good time? Get real...

You'll probably see more than 10 guys out together.

I was sort of wondering the same thing. Not that I'm one to get all gung-ho and happy about drinking, but from what I've heard, drinking isn't exactly a new hobby for hockey players - regardless of level of success.

Ask anyone who was either on those great teams in the 80s or ask some of those who were around at that time; the hockey team has always had team members that went out on the town. There's almost been as much history at Brathaus as there has been at the Ol' Barn.

The only difference is that little thing called the internet.

not sure 100%, about 17 out of 28. But hockey players at club, NCAA, pro, etc. don't have much of a drinking age.

No team gives 100% everygame. We're out there too though probably about the same or more.

danny k must be slightly crossed in his facts, i have seen a few games those guys didn't even show up.. they put in 5% of the time the varsity guys do in a given week and you try to prop them up on some pedestal. i don't want to take away from the guys they are because there probably isn't a more fun group of guys on campus, but atleast know what you are talking about before saying things like that
