Students Rally for Vote on Stroh Center

I don't think Mr. Currie is aware of how our country works:

Senior Steve Currie reinforced those sentiments, "I couldn't believe the arrogance from the student government. How can 19 students assume to speak for over 17,000 on such a crucial and controversial issue?"

At last check, there were roughly 300,000,000 Americans and only 535 members of congress.

And shouldn't it be "presume" to speak? Although its a university, not a country.

The 'protest' is going on outside right now.

The amount of half-truths and flat out lies being thrown around is absolutely disgusting.

I hadn't planned to bother myself with the 'protest', but when I heard someone telling a total lie to a news channel about the fee for the Stroh Center, I got sucked in. You may see me and MarkL on some news coverage tonight/tomorrow.

I'd burn a couch, but I'm afraid I'd receive a bill for OSU tuition in the mail tomorrow.

I was actually going to ask you if you visited this site when I ran into you out there and talked with you for a little bit. I would be the guy who was extremely impressed with the "mature" nature of the signs being carried around.

Man, do I hope they only get 500 signatures so I can laugh at these clowns who claim that the student body was not spoken for.

In addition to that...they were voted into their positions by who else but the student body, therefore just like regular members of congress, they have every damn right to speak for us. It's just ridiculous as to how misinformed people seem to be about these kinds of issues.

I love that the first guy in the BG News video, Rich Ehrbar, is the one complaining! Not only does he make a fool of himself during every basketball game, he now has made a fool of himself to all of his fellow students.

This whole thing is ridiculous. If these people actually cared, why weren't they at USG meetings for the past year while this was being talked about? If they weren't at meetings, why didn't they make it a point to find out what went on at them? Why wait til something gets passed to act like they actually care? Complete morons.

Imagine my horror when I learned that the Toledo Blade video about the rally had that big fool labeled as "Terry Streetman"!

ZZZZZING!

I've never felt tempted to be an AZZhole more than when the person at the Blade office asked me over the phone - "OK, and do you know the correct name for that person and how to spell it?"
