I'd give anything for it to be 426. Shirtless McSunburn needs to go.
Eugh, me too.

That guy is a tool. A serious, serious tool.

But a great move, Drew! And I was impressed, but not surprised, to see the support from other schools.

GO BG!
If I were a member of Facebook I would be number 428. I don't think anything will happen to the program (other than a new coach) and it damn well better not. The CCHA needs BG, college ice hockey needs BG and Miami (and other so-called mid-major schools) need BG. It's too proud of a program to give up.

Rally the troops BG fans...secure the endowments and those gifts. Heck, I'd be willing to donate money and I've got no dog in the fight.

Has anyone thought to contact Scott Hamilton...I know he doesn't represent Hockey but if Hockey goes so does the Ice Arena and I can't believe that is something that would set well with him...

I'm still waiting to hear more on this situation...and if it merits it I think signs would be a good idea.

I just sent an email to the San Jose Sharks, asking them to forward it to Rob Blake. I don't think the program is being cut but it doesn't hurt to let people know.

When Scott was here a few weeks ago raising money for the university, it probably slipped the university people's mind to mention to Scott that the Ice Arena/hockey program could use some help.

I think funding a 1AA program is a bigger waste than if they had kept Brandon and in doing so wasted much bigger 1A money.

First, thanks to everyone who has joined the group and to CHN for the mention in their article. Again, that link is http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=71342390743 and as of this writing we're up to 671 members.

I've heard a lot of great things in the 24+ hours that this first hit the public, including that a lot of former players are organizing together to make a case to GC and Dr. Cartwright. Please, please, please keep any communications with members of the University civil and to the point.

I've e-mailed HockeysFuture.com in hopes they'll pick up the story as well and give us some more nationwide (if not worldwide) attention.

Interesting post on USCHO:
tic tac toe wrote:Who did you vote for for president and AD at BG. No one. You don't vote for school administrators. Many of them are there only until a better position comes along.
But you do vote for state reps and senators and they want to keep their jobs. The Ohio senator for the BG area is Mark Wagoner and the rep is Randy Gardner. They help control billions of state dollars. The heat needs to be turned up on these two.

Gardner is a BG alum.

Marsha Latta (Bobby's wife) at one time worked for the University...I don't know if she still does. It seems like her job was in fundraising, but I could be wrong. Gardner, Bobby and Waggoner are 3 definites to contact.

Drew- GREAT job with the facebook group! I too am so impressed with the number of other schools represented. The UNO fans were some of the first, right? And they consider us their biggest rival. Oh...I saw that you included Alan Mayberry's e-mail address in the ones to contact. While Judge Mayberry is influential in the BGYHA, I don't think he's on the board of trustees, is he?

THIS is why I am so proud to call myself a College Hockey fan...when the chips are down, EVERYONE pitches in. FYI, that Campisi kid should know better...he was raised in BG...it just proves that not everyone from BG is a class act.

Former players are indeed organizing themselves. There is also a group of citizens, lead by a local attorney asking for agendas and budgets using the freedom of information act.

Everyone keep up the great work!! Let our voices be heard. I know I won't stop until we get some answers!!

GO FALCONS!!

That's next month's budget cut after they kill hockey in March!!

I agree, Erika. It's fantastic to see so many people pitch in and show their support even if hockey isn't their favorite sport. I know a lot of people in that group and most don't go to hockey games but they know what it means to this school and a lot of them know what it means to me. I've never missed a game and they're not ruining my record now.

And that sunburn kid has to gooooo.

Especially since he just insulted the s**t out of me. Wonderful guy.
