Nothing confirmed yet but it's looking that Frank Solich, former Husker coach will take Ohio U position.

I'm browsing around right now for a link to confirm. This post is based off of internet chatter on Husker web page.

He has to have been at least an OK coach to get that far. Its a good hire for OU in my opinion. I think that program has some potential.

The buzz on the MAC board was about Solich visiting the OU campus.

He's a solid coach that got run out of Nebraska for not winning enough, though if memory serves, they were above .500 with him at the helm. Not enough, apparently. Sounds like a Zook/Willingham situation.

Agreed that this would be a nice addition to the MAC; OU showed that it has some potential early this year. Perhaps Solich can take them the rest of the way.

Side note - didn't they keep the power running game while he was at Nebraska? Be interesting to see what he would do with OU, who just finished their first season in the post-flexbone offense era.

Possibly a dumb question, but why the heck would Solich go to OU? I mean, I like our Bobcat friends, but geez...

He is also originially from Ohio.

Be nice to move into a low pressure (no media scrutiny, alumni prssure) position at a later part in your career that is close to home.

He can be the OU version of Denny Stolz....only without the being fired in shame at the previous job for cheating stigma.
