How many teams are required to be DI-A in Football?

Post by FalconTurf »

I have this question because the last time we cut athletic teams I thought we went to the minimal number of athletic teams to maintain football at the DI-A or whatever it is called now.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

I only count 17 and if they eliminate Hockey and 20 scholarships I don't see how we will not have to cut a womens sport to maintain Title IX compliance. That would seem to put us at 15 then and in grave danger of losing FBS status.

We have;
1) Baseball
2) M Basketball
3) Football
4) Ice Hockey
5) M Soccer
6) M Golf
7) M CC
8) Softball
9) W Basketball
10) W Gymnastics
11) W Soccer
12) W CC
13) W Golf
14) W Swimming
15) Volleyball
16) W Tennis
17) W Track

I don't believe that diving is counted separate from swimming.

Indoor and outdoor track are counted as two separate sports.
