turledo would have home court advantage ,how is that fair?
Toledo sucks!
Toledo sucks!
GO BG!
BG puts a couple thousand in the seats every night in AA. We just put more than that in the Q for the MAC Tournament (final at least) and the new downtown arena is 15 miles away. BG would have just as much of a home court advantage. Think Akron/Kent aren't loving that the game is in Cleveland?

Besides, even with a good turnout, an 18,000ish seat Q swallows a women's basketball crowd. If BG and UT played in a 9,000 (right?) seat arena in downtown Toledo, the atmosphere would be ridiculous.

Plus, putting it in Toledo centralizes it for the conference. All the Michigan schools, NIU, Ball State, BG and UT all basically go past downtown Toledo to get to Cleveland. It's also probably closer for Miami(OH) to get to and may add an hour to OU's commute, if that.

It wasn't the floor

You saw a team Sunday that was just plain worn out. We missed Jess, we missed a rested Tracy, we missed.....

Next year :-) 17.5 strong bodies ought to help in our rotation. Injuries are part of the game, but being able to rotate 2 or 3 players in a spot ought to help our situation a lot. Not a knock on Victoria, but a healthy Jess Slagle would certainly have helped us on the 3rd day.

BTW it was nice to see her get some playing time and contribute. I know it's not a democracy, but we should see a lot more of the bench in games.

If the MAC does decide to move the women's tournament to Toledo, it would be played at the new arena in downtown Toledo not the renovated Savage Arena. I don't think Toledo would be playing any home games there, so how would that be an advantage. It would be close to BG, so that should help our attendance at the tournament too. I don't think anything has been decided, but something needs to be done. The present format just isn't working for either the men or the women. Twenty-two games in a span of 6 days is too much. Some sort of change need to be made, I'm just not sure what. Let's see what the MAC office comes up with before we say someone has an advantage.

All or nothing

Now that our wonderful (?) commissioner is gone, maybe we can move the MAC office back to Toledo. My choice would be either move all the games to the same city or none. Cleveland, Detroit, Columbus, Indinapolis, Fort Wayne, just about anywhere but Toledo....unless, the new arena turns out to be a magnet to draw better downtown facilities to the city.

Kind of a slim chance based on the present track record, but stranger things have occurred, look at Fifth Third.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the idea for moving the office to Cleveland, at least partially, was to give the MAC a better "BIG TIME" image... I can't imagine the tournament in Toledo having the same national image that it's had in Cleveland over the past 10 yrs.
Only logic to Toledo is that it WOULD be a bit more centrally located for the entire league, certainly for BSU and NIU, as well as the "directional Michigans". OTOH, Cleveland isn't THAT far away from all the Ohio schools, plus Buffalo (and Temple?). So you could make a case Both ways as to the Centralization...but not the IMAGE.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Didn't catch his name, though.... :-D
