Prochaska had to be helped off the floor. She went straight to the locker room. Looked like a knee injury.

Prochaska seemed to be favoring her left leg when she got up, and it didn't look like she was putting a lot of pressure on the right, but she was able to get up and get to the locker room with some help. I'm really hoping the injury isn't serious, because a lot of what we do wouldn't be possible without her.

As it was, LP was incredible down the stretch today, knocking down a bunch of huge FTs. The block she had on Harris with 2 secs left was super. Harris thought she was open and LP just came in from the side and knocked the ball into the front row.

The best part about this game was, when Syracuse was up and building the lead in the first half, the girls could have moped and folded right there (and given the snub last week I wouldn't have blamed them one bit). However, they just wouldn't quit, kept battling despite some HORRIBLE officiating in the 2nd half, and pulled the game out. This team is awesome.

The game

Post by HoopsFan »

Lauren probably got stepped on or pushed on the second block with 1 second left. She may have just landed funny (I hope) and not torn anything up.

Syracus's game plan was to just keep running fresh bodies, I think they played 15 players. Maybe next year we can return the favor and bring our 17.5 players into the lineup.

The posted attendance was 2072 or something like that.

It was at the 3:17 mark when LP hit the 3 that gave us the lead. She then scored 5 of the last 8 Falcon points from the line. Niki had another consistant game with 20 and Tracy had 19. LP also grabbed 17! rebounds.

I'm not at all confident that LP will be able to play on Thursday. She was in a LOT of pain down there. I was in the lower section of the end bleachers, and she was in tears down there. Did not look good.... :(

Overall a great effort by the Falcons! They overcame an eleven point deficit, questionable officiating and some bush league tactics from the Syracuse bench to win a BiG game today! Roll Along against the Hoosiers!!

OK, I only heard the last minute or so....what kind of "bush league tactics" are you referring to...and what type "questionable officiating"? I hope you're ... WRONG on LP's situation, but RIGHT on the game being on Thursday, as I'll be at BG for the leadership/volunteer conference Thurs. and Fri.

I hope I and JG is wrong too but it doesn't look good. Lauren was indeed in tears as she was being helped off the floor. That doesn't happen if you think for a second that there's a reasonable chance your playing in 5 days. That said I'm praying for the absolute best that its mild ankle sprain or something and she could somehow play.

As I posted in a new thread the news just said Lauren's injury is not good. And even Coach Miller said 'When you lose a leader'. Hmmmm, lets just hope if it is serious she will make a full recovery.

As for "bush league" tactics, I mean things like Syracuse's coach coming out onto the baseline and yelling to his players between our free throws, thus delaying the game, and pulling his player over to talk while everyone else (including the official) is waiting for the inbounds pass... He was taking every possible chance to delay the progress of the game. Some of his antics are just part of the game, but I thought it got a little ridiculous several times.

The officiating, on the other hand.... just poor. Officials making calls outside their areas of responsibility, overriding each other, disagreeing calls, etc. They seemed like they had never worked together before.

ditto on the officiating......the bigger South Pacific looking guy just plain missed some calls and they all happened to go against BG. I think they are all Big East wannabes!

On another note, Ball State is hanging tough with Tennessee in the first half! :D

Factman, I can't argue something that I didn't see, but didn't BG shoot about TWICE as many FT's as SU? "they ALL happened to go against BG" sounds a bit inaccuate to me, based on game stats.
