Perhaps this calls for a retraction, or even a recantation.

And while we're at it, how about you cool it with the capitalization.

While I am a Tennessee fan as well and would like for them to win this one, if they have to lose, I will be ok with this one, since it is a MAC team and that is good for the conference for them to beat the Lady Vols, especially since Tenn. is viewed as the program in women's basketball...

At the moment, this looks like it could shape up to a be a pretty good game either way.

For some reason I don't feel quite so bad to have lost to Ball State for the MAC tournament championship. Hopefully we can keep both teams rolling for a few more games!

Man, Ball State took Tennessee behind the woodshed in that 2nd half. Porschia Green was UNREAL in this game, Tenn had no answer for her, and both Gratton and Maggert were rebounding the ball extremely well, holding the Vols to 1 shot attempt down the stretch. Just a phenomenal victory for the Ball State Cardinals and the MAC!

Maybe they'll get to the Sweet 16 like we did in 2007, that'd be 2 out of 3 for the conference.

A few thoughts...

-Good for Ball State. Honestly, Tennessee is just any other 5 seed, but obviously a much bigger name than that. The win was no more unlikely than any other previous 12-5 upsets, but certinaly a 'better' win. This is an awesome 'media guide' win. Way to go Ball State for taking advantage of their opportunity.

-I'm fearful this will overshadow BG's run in the '07 tourney for the MAC, simply because Ball State beat Tennessee. While it's a great win, honestly our win over Vandy in the 2nd round that year was a bigger upset. (Vandy won the SEC Tournament that year after all), While I'm very happy for Ball State for representing the MAC so well, if they don't get to the Sweet 16, BGSU still had the better run.

Go MAC! Congrats BSU...

I humbly retract and recant with no reservations. VERY proud of the MAC!

But cool it with the CAPITALS? Sorry, I didn't know there were capital letter "rules".

Come to think of it, I don't deal real well with SNIDE remarks, nor with SNIPING in posts - - how's THAT for a CAPITAL idea?

I totally agree. This win for Ball State certainly validates that their win over us in the MAC Championship was no fluke. BG may have been 15-1, but Ball State was 14-2 so they were right there with us. They have a great program and Porchia Green is an awesome player.

I hate to play the what-if game, but wow this could've been BG...

The MAC is definitely one of the top conferences out side of the "Big 6" in women's basketball.

What a great win for BSU! If Packard can use this as a momentum builder, women's basketball in the MAC is going to be on the rise for some time to come. With BG, BSU, what UT has going on, and Kent as always, things are really looking up for this conference in the future.

And having just watched Coach Packard's interview, it is great to see someone so humble as she is at the helm in Muncie. Roller was always cocky, and her teams always played cocky as a result. Because of that I never had much respect for BSU's program, but it is great to see someone like Packard to have success there.

Give 'em hell in the next round, Cards!
