Lauren's Injury
Lauren's Injury
Just watched 13 Abc News out of Toledo since I am in town. The news just said Lauren's injury is not good. Hope she can give us some minutes on Thursday but I am not counting on it.

Re: Lauren's Injury
Ugh. Yeah, I didn't have a good feeling at all watching Lauren being helped off the court today. They way she looked and her crying and all really made my heart sink. She just had the look of someone who didn't believe they were going to be able to help their team the rest of this tournament. Praying for the best though.gmartin wrote:Just watched 13 Abc News out of Toledo since I am in town. The news just said Lauren's injury is not good. Hopefully, for Lauren's sake, she can make a full and quick recovery, whether it's for the next game or the next season. We've had other players pick it up when she's been off in recent weeks, so if she has to sit one out, I still think we have the ability to get it done.
We had highlights of IU's win tonight... what a crazy finish. Tied up with 0.2 seconds left, IU inbounds the ball from near midcourt, girl throws a lob toward the basket and an IU player taps it up like a volleyball player for the winning bucket.

My family and I talked with coach Miller at Bob Evans this evening after the game. He said that Lauren hyper-extended her knee. She will have an MRI tomorrow. He is hoping that it is just strained but he said it doesn't look good. He specifically requested prayer twice for her during our talk. In typical coach Miller fashion he said that the team is going to have to step it up and we are going to continue to practice to win. Great win today and go get em coach and team.

While hyper-extending her knee is not good, I am glad that he didn't say that they thought it was an ACL. Looking at the picture of her laying there on the ground, that is the first thing I thought of. I have seen it too many times in the 6 years I have been coaching. It is hearbreaking to see it, and you usually know right away. I had a kid that tore the same ACL for the third time. She didn't even make it a full year between two and three. I am praying for the best. I believe that we will have other kids that can step up and help out on Thursday. Let's just pray for the best.

If indeed it's a hyperextension, I don't see how she could play on Thursday, and she'd probably be out for the next game as well if we do beat Indiana. But honestly, if that's all it is that's fine by me because it didn't look good when she was going off the floor. You'd hate to see an ACL or other serious injury that would require serious rehabilitation.

Seriously?
Is she going to borrow Sarah Clapper's knee brace?
