Actually, the crowd will go nuts too. Concern about Lauren was the topic of conversation standing in line to get tickets this morning. By the way, the line for tickets extended across the lobby all the way to the flag at 11:15 AM this morning. 8-)

I don't think anyone will know for sure until game time....

Potentially more good news......

I got my tix today at about little before 3pm and snuck up to the upper level real quick to take a look our team practicing. Lauren was in a soft knee sleeve riding an exercise bike. I'm telling you that gives us hope. I'm more optimistic about her potentially playing than I was yesterday that's for sure. If the injury was devastating I don't think that Lauren would be moving around at all let alone on an exercise bike, but who knows , all I know is that was very positive to see. Hyper-extending a knee is not good but is way better than an ACL.

Sounds like good news that she is at least able to work out today. Lets hope for the best. And thanks for the info, Dustin......

Whether she can play or not, I think this confirms she didn't rip her knee up, which would have put her availability for next season very much in question. Winning the NIT would be awesome, but next year (and her long-term health in general) was my real concern.

I heard Coach Miller on 1230 with Steve Jarnicki a little after 3 this afternoon. He went into a little detail about Lauren's injury. He said she hyperextended the knee, and also that there was some knee-to-knee contact. He used the term "significant" knee injury.

Never quite count out Coach Miller playing the media with words to throw off the competition who is probably game planning us on whether or not LP is available. Miller does like to be over the top sometimes with the negativity concerning his own team. Not saying Miller is lying outright but just saying. Not counting her out just yet after seeing her warm up on the bike at practice today. Lets see about her status on Wed or so.

I heard from the janitor, who heard from the secretary, who heard from the garbage man, who heard it from the waitress at Big Boy, who heard it from the line cook that they have no idea what is wrong with her.

Channel 13 and 11 both just talked about Lauren. They confirmed definately not an ACL and said she is listed as questionable for Thursday, which of course, makes complete sense. One station said she went through light workouts today, which confirms what some observed. Hoping and praying for the best. I know they will not take any chances with her long term health.

It is possible, once a knee is hyper-extended to blow it out completely. The knee is held in place by the liagaments/tendons. I'm sure that they will have her in one of the most restrictive knee braces possible for the game. Not to be all gloom and doom.... I'm not a doctor, or even an athletic trainer, however I do have 3 years of Sports Medicine classes under my belt as well as 20+ seasons of coaching!

I truly hope she can play, and play well. However, I don't want the need to win, take precedence over someone's health!

The unofficial word on the street from a reputable source is a "BRUISED KNEE."
