In her face

Post by bgbill »

The president of BGSU attended today's BG vs.
Syracuse women's NIT game. Seated one row ahead of her was one of our own wearing the "Save BGSU Hockey" T.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

What's not classy about that? I mean, seriously, someone was wearing a "Save BG Hockey" shirt in front of her. It's not like they turned around and yelled at her.

Let me clarify I was talking about the sig and not the post. That shows a TOTAL lack of respect and is ridiculous. This is not the time to be taking pot shots at those who have great influence over keeping or dropping the program in the future. We need to hold ourselves to a MUCH higher standard and be an example of working professionally with the administration to not only make sure NO sport at BGSU gets cut but that the ENTIRE athletic department is on a strong financial foundation for the future.

Ahh...Yes, that would be ME sitting one row in front of the President. I didn't plan it that way, just bought Prime Seats and there she was. She seemed nice enough, even though I didn't speak to her, fairly quiet. She was into the game, for sure. Would LOVE to see her at a hockey game, wonder how we can make that happen?

RELAX, you took the post the wrong way! I was sitting with TheKa wearing my 1984 National Championship shirt. We never said a word to her, but TheKa did hear her mention the shirt. The one thing we need to keep doing is to KEEP THE HOCKEY PROGRAM IN THE PUBLIC EYE!! Wearing those shirts, or ANY hockey shirt, along with several hockey jerseys that I saw in the crowd is a way to do that! I've always seen people wear hockey jerseys to FB and BB games, so this is nothing new, just shows that there are still plenty of hockey supporters out here!! There was nothing "unclassy" about bgbill's post, nor about anything we did while sitting in front of her. We just screamed our lungs out at the game....like everyone else did!!! Way to go Ladies, btw!!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Am I missing something here? What's wrong with his signature?

I think it was the topic "in her face". Could not really see anything else that could be objectionable.

Well, in all fairness to ITJ, he did change his signature a bit. At the time he mentioned that, it was not only the "Something is happening here and you don't know what it is" from Bob Dylan's "Ballad of a Thin Man," but it also went on to adapt the lyrics to say "Do you, Dr. Cartwright?"

So I can see how that does seem a little disrespectful. I'll also agree that the "in her face!" type attitude is a bit over the line too. I still don't think that a "Us v Them"/"Oh we showed you!" mentality is what is needed in this type of issue.

Big babies. I am sure if hockey was still up in the air for this season "in her face" would be the nicest thing said about Carol Cartwright. I am still of the opinion that she is WRONG for this University and a total give up. I think we deserve much better.

A man went to a brain store to get some brain to complete a study. He sees a sign remarking on the quality of professional brain offerred at this particular brain store. He begins to question the butcher about the cost of these brains.

"How much does it cost for engineer brain?"

"Three dollars an ounce."

"How much does it cost for programmer brain?"

"Four dollars an ounce."

"How much for lawyer brain?"

"$1,000 an ounce."

"Why is lawyer brain so much more?"

"Do you know how many lawyers we had to kill to get one ounce of brain?"

Do you know her personally? B/c i dont. And I don't judge ppl that I dont know. If Hockey was never up in the air, would you dislike her? I mean are you kidding me, 'in her face'? Are we all two years old again? Thats something my baby brother would say. Sorry, but were gunna need grown ups to save this program
