I'm so thankful to you and your family for everything you have done and given to BG. But I'm oh so sorry about what has transpired since the donation. I can only imagine what kind of an affect it has on you guys. Just remember that the true Falcons are very supportive and thankful for what you have done. Please do not get the wrong idea about all of us current students. Many of us support and love what you are doing. Its just the loud, ignorant minority who do not.
Errol Lam is one in particular. On the site for the Facebook group in support of the Stroh Center, he suggested that we get the Stroh family to donate even more instead of having students help pay for it, writing the following.

"there should be more donated [sic] by the private funds from the building dreams fund and ask [sic] mr stroh for an additional substantial amount," and "the students should pay not have to pay more that 20$ [sic] a year, even if [sic] that much at all."

To the entire Stroh family:
People like Errol Lam do not speak for the vast majority of students. What you have done, and what you continue to do to make BGSU better is more than words can express. As a member of the Falcon family, it is deeply moving to me to see how much you do for this great institution. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for everything you have done. Your contribution inspired me to give whatever I could to the University. Unfortunately, since I am a poor college student, it was only $20, but I can guarantee that it will not be the last donation I give, nor will it be the largest. I cannot tell you how much your generosity means to me, and I'm sure it means just as much to many of the other members of the Falcon family. Again, thank you so much, and Roll Along!

Sincerely,
Kevin Murphy

I'd say more, but I don't think I can add much more thanks and praise to the Stroh Family for truly being the kind of Falcon that I can only dream of being at this point in my life.

So in other words... here's to you guys :drinkers: :partyman:

Agreed, I'm not the most original person so all I will say is "what everyone else said." :-D

I am proud to be sitting here typing this, supporting your family and the arena that will bare your name while wearing the Stroh Yeah shirt that was made and the Pro Stroh Vote No button that I got at the WNIT Sunday. Thank you for everything

At the risk of being entirely unoriginal, I simply wanted to thank everyone who has pledged their support for the Stroh Center! For those thinking about, please do! Those who are against it, I respect your opinion, but respectfully disagree. BG needs a facility of this magnitude. As current, former or future falcons, we should do what we can to support this fine university!

Thanks again to the Stroh family!

You will never know how much those words of support mean to me tonight. in 11 minuted they can start to vote and I am just ....well just unsettled.
It is more about how they are casting my family. You know- I can complain about them all I want- but someone else....not so fast!!!

One of my best friends watched her son's helicopter lift off in NC for Texas to train and then go to Iraq for a year. I'm having a great day and am thankful for all I have and those who keep us safe.
We all do what we can do.

As I said about my mom- get up each day, live it to its fullest, learn from your mistakes, and try as hard as you can to help each other until the final bell rings. That is all we can ask of each other in life.

If it makes you feel any better, one of the most awesome things I have ever seen in my life was that bald guy sit his AZZ down after the announcer encouraged students to be "Pro-Stroh, vote no!" looking totally defeated. It took him a minute or two to stand up, and it was priceless.

Quite frankly, the 'students' that are publicly disparaging your family are clueless and few. Even in the age of Obama and populism, there simply can't be a large number of people who would begrudge anyone for donating their hard-earned money to something that matters a great deal to them. The people who are doing it are petty, small, and worthy of both pity and contempt in equal measure.

That being said, I am so, so sorry that you and your family have to hear this kind of garbage. Even if the students vote 'NO!' 99 to 1, it is infuriating that there are people this stupid in the world.

People have said to me that Kerm Stroh only donated to get his name on the building. I usually tell them that they are insinuating that he did one of the most selfless things I can think of for selfish reasons. I also ask them what they give back to the University, and how they support BGSU, other than pay tuition to come here and publicly disparage one of the greatest, if not the greatest, benefactor that this University has ever had. They are people who don not feel connected to this institution, and thus cannot comprehend why someone would give so much back to a University he never attended, other than for self-serving reasons. The answer is that it is about generosity and caring. As that great quote by McDonald goes "We are connected to this institution bu invisible bonds that do not wither or dissolve." Nowhere is that more true than in the case of the Stroh family. We owe you so much, and we can never repay the kindness and generosity you have showed to the entire BGSU community

I would just like to add my own personal thank you to the Stroh family and all those who donate money to BGSU! I hope that one day I too will be able to make my own contribution! Go BG!

What the Stroh family has done for our University is something that can't be put into words. As the many before me have said, and the many falcons in years to come will, Thank you so much for everything you and yours have done for us.
