Those haven't been updated recently. Last thing I heard, Miami dropped Colorado and is playing Kentucky in Cincy. Toledo is dropping Boise, adding Colorado, and I believe the OSU game is in Cleveland. BG is dropping Wyoming and adding Boise.

OSU is not coming to that team up north. They will play their game in Cleveland.

Which means it will just be an OSU game in Cleveland, where Toledo happens to be wearing home jerseys and OSU wears road jerseys. It worked for us to play a home game against Wisconsin there, but there is no such thing as a "neutral site" in Ohio when OSU is involved.

I guess I find the whole idea kind of ridiculous. When I was first looking into going to BG and took a tour, I remember the tour guide explaining that BG had supposedly worked a deal with OSU where we would play several games in Columbus over the years, and then play one game against them here. (By now I figure he was either misinformed or just pulling exciting stories out of azz to lure potential students.) As time went on, I remember hearing that should that ever happen, it would be this type of situation, where we'd play at the "neutral" site of Cleveland so as to fit more people. But the thing is, then you lose the "home game" you were supposed to have. Even if OSU did come to play in the Doyt, I know that there's a pretty strong chance there would still be more red than orange in the stands, and some BG students would still go to the game and root for OSU over BG. But at least it would be a true home game for us, since it's at our stadium. When you move the game to Cleveland, you take away even that aspect.

So any word on when our schedule will officially be out? I know they are still working on a possible home game with Boise to help Miami/Toledo out.

I'm trying to figure how a home game with Boise would work. Boise was playing at Toledo 9/12. We are playing at Missouri 9/12. Also heard we'd drop the Wyoming game to make this work. My head hurts...

BOISE STATE
Sat. 09/05/09 Oregon
Sat. 09/12/09 at Toledo
Sat. 09/19/09 UC Davis
Sat. 09/26/09 Miami (OH)
Sat. 10/03/09 at Tulsa

BOWLING GREEN
Thu. 09/03/09 Troy
Sat. 09/12/09 at Missouri
Sat. 09/19/09 at Marshall
Sat. 09/26/09 TBA
Sat. 10/03/09 Wyoming

YD, You're unfortunately spot on with your evaluation of a "neutral site" game working for the MAC vs. Columbus Tech. MANY years ago, Northwestern was having some financial problems and agreed to play a NEUTRAL site game at the old Cleve. Stadium...I was at that game with my daughter, then an OSU student, and I can tell you there was very little purple in the seats that day.
But I've got to give UT some credit on this one...in order for OSU fans to purchase tix for this game, they have to go through the UT ticket office and make a $100 "CONTIBUTION" to the UT athletic dept....THEN they can pay for tickets too! Could be a heck of a fundraiser to say the least.

This will do that and allow for a great under-the-table slush fund for recruiting as well. We anticipate getting kids we would never have been in on before as we can now provide the cars, apartments and clothes that would have stretched our budget too far in the past. Amstutz bill was really quite small as the Four Star market he represents in commercials is contractually obligated to cover most of that.

We will actually be competing with OSU for the Maurice Clarett's in the future.

it was my understanding the gambling and game fixing was for that, just as at BG we sell pot and work off cars and apt's with a series of Collection agents. :D

Yeah, I understand the financial draw, and on the whole that is a good thing for UT in this situation. But if it were BG, as a fan, I'd rather have the notoriety of hosting that big name in our own stadium than get the large payoff from playing a game that for all intents and purposes is still an away game though the score sheet says otherwise. Especially when you know from the get-go that the amount of fans there for the "visiting" team would vastly outnumber whatever amount you could get for your team, throwing "home field advantage" out the window.

In this case, I'll take the financial draw.

The MAC school would be outdrawn anywhere they played and the lure of $3 million-plus in this day and age is WAYYYY too much to pass up in favor of "I'd rather play at our stadium" (If that were ever even a possiblity with an OSU/Michigan/etc. team.)
