I think the point of contention was that Nikki went down before the ball was in-bounded (<-- I've never actually typed that out before). It was pretty outrageous for the officials to not stop play in that case. That building ERUPTED when Nikki came back out, though, which was pretty awesome.jburket wrote:True or false? By rule, the referees are NOT to stop play when a player is down IF the OPPOSING team has control of the ball.
Just wondering.............
A great coach fights to protect their players. And that certainly was the case tonight when Niki was down........
Speaking of the crowd - holy crap! There was a point in that game where the concrete was shaking (I was in the upper bench). When I walked out of the building my ears were ringing, and I still can hardly hear anything. God I love that building, and I am so proud of all of those fans. On only one other occasion have I seen anything even remotely resembling that kind of energy in that building. It is awe inspiring when it happens, and I am so glad I made the trip for the game.
The only disappointment that I feel in this loss is that this was Goldsberry's last game in the Brown and Orange. She has been an absolute warrior her entire career at BG, and I am going to miss her presence and intensity very much, as everyone else has said. THANK YOU Golds, for everything.
I'm not going to get into the rest of the game. Right now, that experience was a just a great, great way to end a REBUILDING season. I think we have all forgotten that after 25 straight wins. Impressive doesn't even begin to describe what this team did this year.
